I maintain that no other Elite Club was in for him...if you can provide solid evidence to the contrary I'll be happy to converse.
How about we be happy that no other top club came in for him and for once we got in before crazy money is involved like the Dutch teams do with overseas players we could possibly have a future star on our hands ?

Add that to the fact we wanted him since January according to brands, it would explain why it took so long to get the deal done wouldn’t it?

There are other possibilities for why it took so long though.

Some say Brands worked his magic and was convincing Juve NOT to include a buy-back on Kean. That’s possible.

It’s also possible that Kean was keeping his options open for as long as possible in the hope that a better offer may materialise.

In any case, I’m pleased we got it over the line.

Don't expect too much from him this season....5-10 goals in all comps would be a good start...

So hang on, we splash out on a big signing to lead the line and we still expect DCL numbers from him?

Don’t get me wrong, we need to manage the pressure on MK right now but he’s secured a big move to Everton FC in the Premier League, he does need to step up.

At least 10 league goals. 15-20 all comps is the expectation for me and i’d say that’s reasonable.

Top strikers are hitting 2.5x those numbers all competitions and thats the level he aspires to, and the level we aspire to too! So absolutely we should be patient but we should also expect more than bang average - and essentially what we have right now anyway in DCL.

Last 19 year old to score 20 goals across a season, in his first season in the Premier league? With no European games?

Nah what? You had something to say about MK?

4 games 0 goals and yes he has to adjust to the English League...I accept that.

What I don't accept is why weren't other top elite European clubs in for him (I bracket EFC as an elite European Club btw)?
Yeah, no other club was interested in him. He wasn’t really good, Juventus is just a chattily that gives 16 year olds appearances as does its sister organization, the Italian national team.

Dortmund, Barca, Ajax, Sevilla, Arsenal, these aren’t top clubs?

Well that’s quite a niche category. There haven’t been many other 19 year olds leading the line for any team in Premier League history, so there isn’t really any comparable data. We have no previous benchmark. However we could look at some similar numbers from similarly young / inexperienced strikers.

If I said the following strikers have scored more than 15 goals in all competitions (excluding European goals) while under the age of 23:

Fernando Torres, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Javier Hernandez, Romelu Lukaku, Dele Alli, Christian Benteke, Mario Balotelli and Gabriel Jesus

You might not be surprised as they are generally considered elite players who were once at the top of their game (although one might say thats precisely the bar Kean should set as he aims to reach those heights)

However if I also said that these players achieved that feat too:

Saido Berahino, Mikkael Forssell, Alan Smith, Kevin Doyle, Darren Bent and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Then truthfully, we should expect big numbers from Kean. We shouldn’t set the bar low. He’s a big signing, I’d hope with big ambitions, playing for a big club in the best league.... step up Moisty.
