Our lack of goal scorer is a very real issue, that point reinforced during the Palace game, now we need Kean to provide 15+ goals to move us up the table.

I don’t think that is fair pressure to be putting on a 19 year old, but the way in which Brands conducted business in the summer had left us in this situation.

Exactly mate. If they want to be successful, whatever that is this season, then they have to step up collectively and there should be a pressure on all of them to do this.

You can be pretty excited about the season. You hardly watch Everton as it is, by your own admission.

Its ONE game. If Siggy hadnt scuffed his, and Palace didnt have half of South London on their goal line we would have walked that game.

There should have been 3 goals. Two from Sigurdsson and one from Richarlison. They missed them. That didn't happen often with those two last year with good chances.

Don't care about preseason as it's a fitness test.

Everton signed one of the most prolific U-21 players in the world.

This cohesion won't happen overnight. It will take 2-3 games together to get comfortable.

We only scored 50 odd last season which was less than Bournemouth who conceded a lot more. We only need to score 1 more than an opposition team to win the game and Kean was brought in to add more bite up front.

Insofar as signing a striker, I think you would be hard pushed to find anyone to say that Kean wasn’t a coup for the club. DCL will provide competition and Richarlison can play in the middle as well. We now have more options out wide as well as the possibility of playing Iwobi as a 10 or going with more purpose towards a 4-3-3.

Brands came up a bit short of our expectations but he’s done a good job in the last 3 windows, including getting quite a few out.

Might be worth giving the lads a few games before saying the wheels are coming off?

I still find it odd that many here want to handle Kean with kid gloves. He's coming here to play. That's why he signed here. Start him as soon as possible. He's not going to be intimidated, he's not going to be overhwhelmed, he's better than DCL right NOW. DCL has more games, big deal. Kean has just as many goals in 1/3 of the minutes. The second Silva thinks he's got the tactics somewhat down he should be in there and I'll be will be.

History is irrelevant about players adapting to this league. This kid is not like most of those players. He is a very good fit for the PL. He will score. Put him in.

I don't love the idea of dropping him into the team in current form. We rely on Dom holding the ball up or winning headers to get into the attacking third a good deal and taking that out could be an issue. At the very least I'd try to introduce Iwobi at the same time.

We obviously need our striker to score goals but it won't happen if we can't get the ball there and we definitely need a new plan if Dom is removed.

He only started 5 games in a fully functioning high quality Juventus side. This is a really dysfunctional team atm and it will only get worse if André is out for an extended period. The midfield needs to be sorted from top to bottom before I feel comfortable throwing Kean to the wolves

Being quite hopeful there...I'd think more like 4-6 months, provided interested parties stay free of injury. Having a system helps with integration but you've still got individual tendencies to deal with. Put 11 artists together and ask for a collaboration on a painting and who knows what you're going to end up with...it definitely won't be cohesive.
