....regardless of whether we play in a way that suits him, regardless of his age, regardless of his experience, regardless that he’s in a new country, regardless that he’s in a new league, regardless the manager might not be good;

he still gets possession of a football on the pitch wearing an Everton shirt. I sincerely want him to do something really good when that happens. I’ll be happier then.

We all want him to do well. I was genuinely excited when we were linked with him and even more so when we signed him.

Obviously the lad needs time to adjust to his new surroundings, new country, new pace and different physicality of football. That’s not the issue.

The issue is, we have a manager who’s persistence use of a dated system which no longer works for us is crippling any chance of this lad being successful. As I said earlier if we wanted a striker to run the channels and hold up the ball and who’s only source of service is crosses into the box we should have went signed a Kenwyne Jones type striker.

How are some of you writing the lad off already, he has touch and speed and looks dangerous going forward.

He’s not 100% poise just yet but he has the mind for finishing and you can see that from the shots he takes on and the positions he gets himself in.

Maybe actually playing games will help.

What will help is the manager changing his system and actually playing to our forwards strengths. Rather than telecasting to the whole world what our style of play is and making it sooooo easy for the opposition to defend against. This is why teams have sussed us out. We are the most predictable team in the league. Prevent us crossing the ball into the box and we have zero chance of scoring. It’s quite simples.

I am not a football manager, and deffo not a football hipster type. But isnt it normal to set a team up to maximise the output from the strikers you have?

Not sure we do that.
Not really, to be fair. What's normal is signing a striker who will fit the type of profile you want. If your team gets wide and put crosses in, then signing a striker for £27m and complaining that we keep getting wide and putting crosses in seems a bit backwards to me. We should have signed somebody who fit the style of play, or changed the manager in the summer if we didn't like what he was doing. Having a manager who you know plays a certain way and signing players who play a different way, is utter idiocy.

I sincerely hope nobody is writing him off yet! How any new signing can be written off playing under this manager, in this system, alongside the majority of those players... extremely, extremely harsh. Get a good manager in, then a proven striker, then bring Kean through slowly and allow him time to flourish. Brands and Silva got him in which was great, then proceeded to ruin him by pinning all the fans' hopes on him.

Imagine the conversation.
Mr Kean, I know you have Ronaldo , higuain dyabala ahead of you at juventus.

Why not join Everton where you can play understudy to Calvert lewen even though he is crap.

....and a payrise

Haha! Also if you’re lucky you may get one decent chance on goal in a league game per month!

I think I'd rather see us try a 433 with Tosun flanked by Keane and Richarlison than persist with the 451. Delph and Davies in the middle with Gomes - go for an aggressive high press style with the option of dropping deep and breaking at pace if needed. If it falls over it shows that we are in a bad place with the squad and maybe Marco knows 451 with his current personell is the best of a bad batch.

The midfield above doesn't inspire me much to be honest, but I'm not sure our other fit first teamers can play that system brilliantly either. Moot points perhaps, they are all meh at the mo.

Considering how dire we are in front of goal, how desperate we are for some pace, energy and clinical finishing up top, the manager STILL hasn't had the sufficient faith in his ability to start him regularly yet.

Alot of fans believed that the signing was something of a coup, and the reason he signed for us over others was purely down to game time. Well, that and something to do with Brands being so good at his job that he plays Mahjong with top Footy agents when he's not giving shirts to players Mums or working out. If that's to be believed, we're not holding our end of the bargain are we?

Furthermore, If things are that dire and you're not willing to give your big new signing an extended run in the team, it suggests to me that Silva / the club mustn't be seeing much / enough in training. And how well do you have to do in training to outshine Dom?

Time to step up Moise, la.

Had this team in mind myself but thought Delph ball winner, Gomes and iwobi
