2019/20 Moise Kean

...I don’t get the ‘system’ shouts, Bernie. As far as I know, he was raised a striker, so he has the skill set of a striker. Back to goal play, taking defenders on, right foot, left foot, running the channels. It’s a great position, it’s a great skill set regardless of the system. What Kean has is great physicality (speed, power, strength, mobility) so he needs to apply that.

Brands hasn’t got many wrong, let’s hope this lad comes good.
Now come on there Eggs, you know fine well there are different kinds of strikers. Some have more physical attributes, we call them target men, you have the speed merchants, the finishers, the intelligent ones who link play. All have different skill sets and all suit different formations/systems.

Overall I agree with you, only Moise Kean can show what Moise Kean can do and I'm sure he'll get there but not likely this season.

If not ours, what type of system do you believe he would be more suited to?

If that’s the case, it begs the question, why did we pay £30m for a striker who, not only wasn’t ready, but didn’t fit our system?

It’s not something I agree with by the way but it’s an interesting point. I think Silva can only play Kean as per his performances and conduct in training, then it’s up to Kean to show his stuff - which I think we all agree on.

Ultimately there is a sizeable burden on the lad to do better than he has. Some may argue that’s not fair, but it’s the reality.

He fits our system fine. What about his game doesn’t fit our system. He just needs to play.

19 year old kid, one of the hottest prospects in Europe, slowly finding his feet in one of the hardest leagues in the world and people writing him off.

Where we are as a club is we cant compete when this lad is 22-25 banging them in for fun so we have to try and preempt that by buying early and for him to develop with us. Then he becomes that player with us and we either sell for decent money or he stays with us because we have developed too.

I agree we need some here and now and maybe a shuffle around of forwards- Tosun/Niasse leaving in Jan could mean a more established striker coming in could benefit everyone.

He hates Everton plus all his said is he needs to be at a club where he plays regularly to go to Euro 2020. Which is true.

Had to laugh at the Echo criticising Mancini for saying it.

They really are so precious over our Putz manager aren't they.

Kean has to be playing regularly - nothing wrong with what Mancini said.

Shame we dont have Mancini as manager.
