2019/20 Moise Kean

Essentially persisting with Kean is fine if you're a top 6 side who have near unlimited FFP spend ability.

We unfortunately do not have that and are in a position of needing massive investment to get us challenging the top sides - to do that we are gonna have to get certain players off the books to help abide by FFP who can make us a profit.

Essentially at present the club hasn't got room for £25 million+ passenger's like him and Iwobi nor players on over 120k a week like Bernard offering us 2 goals a season - everyone has to be offering the club something and if they dont then we have to get as much money for them and reinvest in someone who can contribute.

This is the real world though where selling players is actually often a very difficult task and things aren't as simple as they are on football manager.

But you're going on like its impossible to sell players - we sold Lookman, Vlasic, Onyekuru last season and neither did anything at the club.

Iwobi is still a decent player who's an established international player he just doesnt fit in our system.

Kean is a "highly" rated player who apparently many clubs were monitoring - just because he hasn't done it in England doesn't mean he couldnt go back to Italy/Spain/Germany and improve in slower/physically weaker leagues.

I just think anyone who is happy for the likes of Kean, Iwobi, Bernard etc to stay at the club can not moan if we dont spend much as the club simply have to balance the books.

We're not a Man Utd or Chelsea who can have a conveyor belt of players on the books doing nothing or players like Sanchez on 300k a week not contributing.

Kean is not in the same bracket as Iwobi or Bernard, yet.
This time next year, if he's still underperforming like those other two have been (Iwobi most of his PL career tbf) then maybe it'll be time to think about moving him on.
Carlo clearly wants him another season minimum.

But its another season down the pan if he doesnt improve and DCL keeps revertingto type - the current forward options are simply not prolific enough.

Not even your beloved Ings would be prolific with this midfield behind them. 1 or 2 quality signings in midfield and they'll be fine.

might do if they get given more than half a chance a game and not a swing and hope from our defenders/midfield.

You can only use the midfield excuse so far - otherwise you can simply absolve Pickford, Sidibe & Keane of all bad performances this season as surely a solid midfield means the above 3 get protection no?

A better midfield doesnt prevent DCL missing from 2 yards out or passing back instead of running at the oppositions defence pushing them back and moving us up the pitch

A better midfield doesnt stop Kean blowing out his ass 10 minutes on the pitch.

I think you both are giving way too many excuses and looking for the easy excuse of "it wuz der midfield".

The midfield is the biggest problem no doubt - but unless we are bringing in KDB & Kante we aint pushing the top 6/7 with the current options up top, GK, RB & wide players.

Glad you agree. As for;
GK - yes, this summer but doubtful
RB - yes, this summer
wide players - yes, this summer if current crap is moved out
Up top - if DCL's doesn't get back to scoring and Kean has shown no progress then this is for next summer.

What was Carlo supposed to say when asked about Kean...or any other Everton player?
A waster, can't wait to get rid..?

I still think Kean is the most saleable of our non playing players and I am not convinced he will be with us next season.
I will be happy if he is but not convinced.

Realistically we need at minimum 5-6 players which means unless we are breaking FFP we have to sell players who aint contributing and lower the wage bill.

Anything less and we'll still be making up the numbers.

A GK who cant catch a cold

A RB too old to get forward

Midfielders who are garbage

Wide players who dont score/assist/create chances.

Forwards including a lad who's had a good 3 months in 3 years at the club, another who's scored 1 goal all season and has put in sub par performances most weeks and a no pace galoot with dodgy spray on hair.

Squad needs massive investment - CM improvements isn't going to solve most of the above on its own.
