This sort of lazy punditry has been at the forefront of football discussion for years. It's Souness trying to belittle Everton because we have signed a 'superstar'.

Souness doesn't like young black players that play for clubs other than Liverpool, nothing to do with the political climate.

The club won’t have known, certainly Marco and the player wouldn’t have as they were preparing and afaik the club haven’t been tagged in any of the videos doing the rounds of said comments to see
