I don't see signing players who are not exceptional and in their late 20s for cash like that as a wise move. In fact I'm pretty sure you felt that way about Bolassie.
Yet you just complained about spending money on Lookman as well... So we shouldn't spend money on promising young players, and we shouldn't spend money on proven players either. You're also complaining that we'll sell players this window to recoup some. That's absolutely what we should be doing given the wage sucking leeches that are on the books. What's it you think we should be doing differently Dave? Who should we buy?

We've buying and relying on potential for years. The problem is imagine you have a world class forward but need a quality midfielder to complement him . You buy the potentially quality midfielder but by the time he comes good the world class forward has aged or moved on . So now you have a world class midfielder but you need a forward to complement him so you buy a potentially quality forward..........................
Mate, take a look at Schneiderlin game. He punts out wide to runners who've git in their bikes for an early pass. Nothing much comes through the middle. That will marginalise Lukaku, not to mention Barkley. If the goal is to get rid of both and sell them then this is the right way to go about it.

But a few days ago you said you had never even noticed him, now your telling everybody what his game is all about.

lollollollol

As stated above United paid £23m for him only a couple of seasons ago and the inflated fees were already in the game then.

Basically we'd be giving United their cash back on a player who couldn't cut it for them.

Rom came to us around that time for 28mil. In today's market, we would have had to pay over 40. Give it a rest.

Koeman and Co. overrated how much pull we had towards big names in the summer, and we flunked out on a lot of signings. As a result, we are going for the obtainable players that have a chance to be very good for our side. I'm fine with that. Build a house and improve it as you go.
