Not a fan myself, but it's the modern game.If Chelsea or City wanted him it would have been done and he's have had a few days training already. If we want to compete with the big boys.......
Doesn't even look close.

Manchester United have arrived at The Lowry Hotel ahead of their EFL Cup semi-final against Hull City on Tuesday.
Skipper Wayne Rooney was among those in the travelling party, with the 31-year-old looking to break the club's all-time goalscoring record after equalling it against Reading.
M.E.N. photographers did not spot Zlatan Ibrahimovic , Luke Shaw , Marcos Rojo , Bastian Schweinsteiger , Ashley Young , Memphis Depay or Morgan Schneiderlin get off the team coach.
Rojo limped off with a muscle injury in the 4-0 win over Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday while Shaw has not featured for the Reds since November 30.
After sitting on the bench against Reading, Ibrahimovic was expected to return but it's not unusual for some players to arrive separately - as may be the case with Young and Schweinsteiger.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan still stays at The Lowry and Daley Blind lives nearby, so they tend to meet with their team-mates at the hotel.
Eric Bailly, meanwhile, is on international duty with the Ivory Coast ahead of the Elephants' first group game against Togo on Monday.
Memphis and Scheniderlin will not be considered until their futures are resolved.
"Their situation is exactly the same," Mourinho said. "I will allow them to leave the club, I will allow them to leave if the right offer comes and until this moment, no.
"We are waiting for something that a couple of weeks ago looked 100 per cent. In this moment, it looks like zero per cent because we don’t have any offer that is close to the quality the players have."
Oh, and every player has a price/valuation.
Not a fan of the "Just pay what they ask" shouts.
Yes every player has a price, his is 24m, pay it or move on.
Chelsea? Like they did with John Stones?
Schneiderlin hasn't played for months, we'll finish 7th with or without him and we've got no chance of achieving anything of significance this season. Let's not go paying over the odds...

I also don't think signing Morgan Schneiderlin is competing with 'the big boys' - Schneiderlin wouldn't currently get into any top six side.
The irritation is because we have clearly been interested since the autumn. We could have held negotiations with Man U well in advance of the window opening, agreed a price/determined that we could not agree on a price, agree terms with the player and signed contracts on the 2nd Jan or moved on to other targets.Treated like what? Why would the club keep you posted of the in's and out's of a multi-million pound business deal before its even completed? Nobody is being mistreated, keep it together la.

I don't think these transfer funds are coming out of the board's pockets, we have still yet to spend the additional TV money that was made available in the summer.
We need MS more than City needed Stones so they could afford to take their time with that deal .And I have a sneaking suspicion United are aware of that. That's why the Stones deal took 30 seconds.....not. We quoted a selling price, City negotiated until we agreed on a fee. That "seller's market" thing again![]()

Maybe that happened, who knows? If it did, we didn't do it well. If it didn't, then why not?
There has to come a time where we move on to other targets. I like the lad and think he could do a job here but is he a once in a generation player. No. So sooner rather than later we need to move on to another target.
That is if we have any money. Maybe this will get done when McCarthy and Cleverley get flogged?
