So what bands do you like Rob?
I'm mainly in to rock music. Volbeat, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, AC/DC, FFDP etc but I can quite happily listen to a very wide mix of music. I'm currently listening to Absolute 80s on the radio. Yesterday it was 70s.
I listen to music a lot, I've just never understood the appeal of the Beatles.

Many people see the Beatles as purely playing 1950's rock and roll (all their early stuff). The thing is their music went down so many paths (rock and roll, Pyschedelia, Indian folk, R+B and classical). All the time they were binding elements of these genres together and pushing the boundaries of popular music. In doing so they opened so many doors for artists that followed them. For that alone they should be applauded as one of the, if not THE MOST influential bands of our times.

I'm a massive fan but I certainly don't like all of their stuff. But the stuff I like, I think of as pure musical genius. This is one of my fave tracks and also it's very poignant as it was their last public performance together

I'm howling at the arrogance. You post a few videos supporting your opinion from this massive web of information and declare yourself a winner.

Incredible. I can say that a band was very influential - even had some very good songs - and still consider their music overrated compared to other musicians and bands at our disposal right now.

You can howl at the arrogance if you want, mate.

I've been a gigging guitarist for the last 50 years. I think I know a little bit about the structure of songs and the abilities of those at the top of the tree who perform.

It's not arrogance, it's knowledge...

Five...just a derivative version of bros, never understood the many plaudits they received...even their much heralded early material was somewhat overproduced
