No one is denying your knowledge. Your knowledge shouldn't deny others having an opinion.

Opinions are fine.

But some people don't know the difference between opinions and fact. And equally so, do not understand the difference between personal taste and the ability of the artist. Let me give you an example: I don't particularly like Michael Jackson's music. BUT the guy had incredible ability, and was smart enough to pull his dance moves from James Brown. I would never say Michael Jackson is rubbish, garbage, or crap.

And the fact is: the performing and composing abilities of the Beatles do NOT place them in the category of being rubbish, or garbage.

'Over-rated' is subjective. But given the influence they have had over the decades since they folded points to the fact that they deserve every plaudit given to them. They are almost certainly the LEAST over-rated of any act in popular music history.

People may not like them, or may not like their music, but they should not be blinded to the fact of their influence, and their abilities.

All bands have good songs and bad songs, so they're all gash - or ace, depending if you like a certain song.
tbh, not much of a fan of Springsteen or U2 though or 'rock ballads' or...

Ahahahaha

So you know more than people because have played the guitar for 50 years?

You legend.

You cannot even read a simply post correctly! I haven't played guitar for 50 years. I have GIGGED for 50 years. I have played guitar longer than 50 years. Do you now follow that simple train of thought?

I know about music. Do you?

Keep trying to score stupid points...

I hope you appreciate how much I'm enjoying that you're getting so wound up by this. You're never going to convince me that the Beatles were anything other than bang average musicians that struck lucky.

I do yes, I am also not blinkered to think that four white men in a band have changed the course of music forever.

Are you always this angry?

I'm not getting would up. I'm smiling at the ignorance of people who do not understand musical ability, you being one of them. You've just shown yourself as such by saying: "...the Beatles were anything other than bang average musicians that struck lucky...". You really haven't a clue, Rob...

I don't think the Beatles abilities as composers and arrangers, especially given they (and Martin and Emerick) had to invent a lot of technology to be able to make the sounds in their head, can be overstated in pop music. Imagine a mainstream artist releasing a single as out there as Strawberry Fields today.

I'm not angry, I'm laughing at you and your posts.

You call that angry? Get a life!

Keep posting your little snide remarks if it makes you happy. Let's see your next one...

Pink Floyd, on the other hand, do my nut in.

Oh you've got a song about how bad money is? And just in case I didn't grasp the thumpingly unsubtle lyrics you've got a till ringing in the background? And you're making how much?
