Is Pini Zahavi his agent? He's supposedly negotiating the deal. He's worked well for us in the past, helped us sign Yakubu.

Yes, Pini Zahavi is his agent but I guess he'll be helping his own pocket, mate. :D

Did you his nephew plays for Sporting? His name is Alexander Zahavi and he's a sort of Globetrotter, after playing for Barcelona he has settled here.

Seems to be talented and with his uncle being who he is.... :D

Yes I've heard about him. Isn't he half Portuguese?

Is it me or are these Portugese players getting a little too pricey? Really what have they ever really done? When did this Portugal squad become Brasil 1970?

Yeah, they are pricey... in the same mould of the english players. b)

Its worse than English players now. 17M for Botsawanga, 16M for Mutiniho sheesh! I'm not a fan of him but at least Darren Bent played and scored 20 goals in the prem when he was bought for 16M.

I've never really seen him play but is Munitiho worth 5 times more than what Michael Bradley is worth? The Dutch league may be crap but is the Portugal league any better? How do we know this guy is going to be any good? I also haven't seen any press clipping saying he has a desire to play for us either.

He's alot better than Michael Bradley. I like Bradley but he's not a patch on Moutinho. Bradley isn't better than any of our current midfielders, Moutinho would probably be one of our best.

Why is he worth 15-18 million? Because he's an excellent talent, because he's captain of his current club, because he's an international and because he's come through one of the best acadamies in the world.

Ofcourse we are paying a little over the odds, everyone does nowadays but signing someone like Moutinho would be a signal of intent. Similar to what Spurs have done with Modric. A player with excellent talent who's going to push you on.

Man utd bought Anderson for around the same price despite him doing a lot less than Moutinho. He broke his leg, played a few games for Porto and then was on his way to Utd.

Portugal is producing some excellent talents at the moment and the prices are about right. They are losing there best players so to bigger Leagues so it's important they get the right money.

It says we have offered him a 5 year deal with "favourable" wages. I guess more than what he's on now!

It goes on to say that the offer is expected to arrive any time soon, adding that, at present, we don't intend to go above €20m having commented that Ronaldinho went to Milan for €25m.

Doesn't it say something about we had not yet put in a written offer, which Lisbon were insisting on, but we were now expected to?

Yes, because Pini Zahavi was negotiating the deal we only had a verbal offer. Sporting want confirmation from Everton, we will confirm it soon.

It's all looking good at the moment, alot of positive news.

Is this really going to happen? To use Wyness famous words, this will be the deal of the century

I think any speculation about Michael Bradley is moot at this point.

While I think he'd do ok for us, I think his last several internationals haven't been his best and if Moyes was watching him, he's probably turned his attentions elsewhere.

Probably best for Bradley to get another year in Holland or move to Germany at this juncture.

I think we've moved on to better more proven players personally, Bradley is talented but I don't think he's the finished article yet.

Germany would be excellent for him. Alot of players playing in the Dutch League move to Germany. The likes of Van der Vaart, Pienaar and De Jong. A few years there would do Bradley well.
