No translation this time boys, none of the family are home. It's definatly about Moutinho though, maybe Sotnas could translate.

Moutinho consensus in the working group

At a time when the Everton is positioned to negotiate with Sporting Joao Moutinho, SAD - which has not yet received an official proposal - is known to form respectful and effectively to initial unfair that the whole welcomed the captain of the lions on stage , Which runs from Isla Canela. Derlei was one of several players who, one way or another, left the clear commitment that they have the master of your team.

Literally translated, dont know what it means though :)

veloso it´s a young pirlo but more stronger physically all the transitions defense attack go through him.
Moutinho is just like scholes in the golden days, is the soul of the team.

You are too kind mate.

Veloso like Pirlo? Only because they tread the same ground.

Moutinho could become like Scholes, indeed.

It's nothing really new or important. It says basically that while Everton are positioning themselves to table a bid for Moutinho (without any oficial approach so far, meaning, written offer) the squad is showing the affection and respect they have towards the young general.

Thanks for that (y)

Can't say I've ever rated Veloso, he's a very hot and cold player. Good on his day but inconsistent. He's similar in style to Pirlo but not a patch on him.

I rate Fernandes higher than him to be honest. Moutinho is the best out of the three though.

Veloso more important? Not a chance. Moutinho is better and more consistent. Sporting would rather see Veloso go than Moutinho.

Not exactly Toxteth, they're both equally important.

The main difference is the professional dimension of Moutinho's approach. He never stops playing and running. He has a damn dinamo with eternal batteries on his back.

Veloso is more prone to form flutuations. But then again, this was only the first complete season for him, while Moutinho is playing as a first choice for a longer time.

I'd say Veloso can have an edge when it comes to long range passes. He really has great ability in this department. He dictates the tempo and he's the man who starts the offensive moves of the side.

Veloso is a slow player, but his ability to pass the ball forward makes him decisive in the offensive movements, even if he plays deep. His vision is something to admire. Just watch the pass for the last goal of Sporting against Benfica (scored by Vukcevic) made with his right foot when he's a leftie.

So, if both are on top of their form none is expendable.

Who would you rather lose?

Every Sporting fan I've talked too has said they'd rather Moutinho stay than Veloso. He's the heartbeat of Sporting's team.

Obviously they wouldn't want to lose Veloso either but if it came to it I think they'd rather keep Moutinho.

I'd like to keep both for 2 more seasons.

Moutinho is more commited, so he gets all the pundits. Besides, Veloso has been involved in some off the field distractions "a la Beckham" and usually fans don't enjoy this kind of exposure. But he's rated highly by everyone.

People just think that he might get lost of the track.

But I think that both of them would work out great in Everton midfield.

They would bring us closer to the top 4.

Probably only Chelsea midfield would have an edge over us, with their imposing strenght. But these two are still babies learning their trade.

They could become legends at the club and in the Premiership.

I don't think we could afford both sadly, maybe Moutinho but not both.

Do you still believe we won't sign Moutinho? I find it quite strange that his own agent is trying to negotiate a deal.

His agent is taking care of his own pocket, like every agent is doing nowadays (just look at Ronaldo).

The thing is:
a) Sporting has made a clear bet on recapturing the title.

b) The release clause is no longer active.

c) Sporting has made a financial effort to keep the best players and are prepared to take it until January, according to CL career will be.

d) Moutinho never came out saying "I wanna leave and that's period!"

e) Moutinho is the best paid player in the squad.

f) Unlike Veloso, who stated that he wanted to leave if a club of the next level would come along, Moutinho never said nothing as defining as that.

g) With all honesty I don't rate Everton as being any step higher than Sporting (Sporting plays to win things, will play in the CL against Europe top dogs, has great support, great working conditions and facilities almost unparaleled in the World)

h) ....

So there are a lot of things that make this deal a hard one to do. At least at this point of the season. Which is pretty silly because if Everton reach 25M€ mark they should have done a month ago while the release clause was active.

yup. This is why I have little hopes of Moutinho coming here.

If Moutinho definatly wanted to stay he'd tell Pini Zahavi to stop negotiating. That's not the the case and Zahavi is representing Everton. He might not want to leave and I'm not saying he will but I find that strange. There must be something in it.

On the Sporting v Everton thing you've brought up, the Premier League is a very attractive proposition for any player. Currently the best in the Europe and we have some of the best players in the world here.

I don't see why he wouldn't consider us, It's not like he's currently good enough to get into any of the top four sides. At the moment he's not and all the top teams have 4/5 quality players in his position.

Everton is a very attractive club.

I'm not saying Everton isn't an attractive option. I'm just saying that it's not an obvious one.

Being part of the best league in the world (whatever that might mean) is not a guarantee of attractiveness to any sort of player.

The most aspired competition is without any doubt the Champions League. I'm sure Aimar chose Benfica over a number of English clubs because, although Benfica won't play CL this season, they have a real chance of doing it season after season.

sotnas, i think we all agree it would be a major transfer coup if moyes landed him. he is young and talented with top teams after him.

hopefully moyes can persuade him that we are a team on the up and even could be going all out to win the uefa cup this season.

if he signs it will be a marker in the sand for the new standard of everton player.
