THINK ABOUT IT FELLA!!! There was not a lack of money, Randy Lerner simply told MON to sell the players that he never played who were on astronomical salaries (Habib Beye 52k!) before he could spend. Randy didn't trust him any more. You lot have needed a goalscorer like Darren Bent for yonks but where was your 18mil in Jan? Utter nonsense.

yeah and after that investment we're did you end up in the league?

Can the Villa fan answer me one question?

Why would you go for Martinez and then Moyes? Surely it would have been the other way round?

Sorry if that has already been answered in here. Can't be bothered to read through all the waffle.

:lol:One word, 'Deluded'.
Villa forums are full of stories of lerner jetting off to Barbados tomorrow to sign Moyes and meet Kenwright to discuss the financial side of things..
Yes ok sure.

Wigan's boss didn't even fancy it, why would Moyes?

Nonsense.

OMG! Really? Do you honestly believe that we offered Martinez the job and he said no? Come on. Hugely increasing your salary to manage a much bigger club with a massive history and you'd say no? Come on. If that WERE the case then I'd have masive respect for the chap but I can't believe that for one second. There is much more to that story than meets the eye.

Martinez only had 12 months on his contract left, probably easier target financially.

I read an interesting piece a little while ago about betting and the media's role in it. How naive punters stake small fortunes after being led into it by nonsenical rumours, word of mouth and the such. Shortening the odds, based on even the smallest rumour someone has got wind of, or even if no rumour exists, encourages some people to start rumours and others to assume that big bets have been placed and place bets themselves. It's a shady business and a profitable one for the bookies. Particularly the betting exchanges where punters actually make money from other punters, or lose it. Wonder how much was staked on Martinez over the last couple of days.

Its been very funny tonight.

Thanks to Villains for continuing to show they haven't a clue about their clubs finances.

Thanks to Chioazul for the popcorn !!!!

And thanks to David Moyes - for CONTINUING to manage this wonderful football club. Everton.

Boss.

one swallow doesnt make a summer. even when he got you lot top 4, your mickey mouse board baulked at backing him. how unfortunate for him and everton. that was your boat missed. like it or not you are destined to finish mid table for the next 4 or 5 seasons, like us. and he's perfectly happy with that. villa have debts alright, all owed to randy lerner. but at least we gave it a go. your board wouldnt even back him when he got you there. maybe lerner would give it one last push if he came on board. maybe it'd be the rock we'd perish on, but at least we'd have given it a go. maybe we'll never know.

Take a massive step back mate, breath hard and take in a good dose of reality. Villa midtable - i have serious doubts - in fact i have a score on them to be relegated - prob not like - but worth a flutter IMHO.

Im going to quote this post when lids on here start banging on about investment and having a go. Like i say im sorry for you guys the fans!

* Boss cliches of desperation - yet somehow so sad - feel for you guys!

No that's a fair enough question mate. Martinez was allegedley approached by Villa, as were a couple of other candidates. Approaching a manager does not make him your 1st choice it is simply good business practice to assess all credible options before appointing a manager. Moyes is in the Caribbean at present and so it would make perfect sense to interview other candidates that are more readily available (as in, in the country) before completing the process. Is that too difficult for people to believe? Do your fans get ALL your opinions from the Daily Star, Mirror, News Of The World etc? Surely you can think outside the box a little?

ill have 5 big ones with any one on here, or kipper, moyes is in charge of EVERTON F.C NEXT YEAR ,NO DANGER WHAT SO EVER .fook what the papers say

You've spent vastly more than us for years. And yet what have you achieved recently. A cup final, we did that. A cup semi, we did that too. And as for the league, you've only finished higher than us twice since Moyes took over. Don't act like it would be a great step up to move from us to you.

Ok. Fair enough you saying that. But can you back your claim up with a source?!
Our resident sourced up guy is saying it isn't happening and we are more likely to beleive him with a proven track record than you, a random Villa fan. Surely that makes sense?
