Moyes: None of my Everton FC stars are going anywhere

I can't put it better than that. We'd all agree that Lescott was a great piece of business now, just [Poor language removed] timing but blame the player not the club for that.

Mr K is setting himself up for some more ranting here so if we let go of Yobo or Vaughan he can attack the club and say Moyes has had them sold behind his back, you get the picture.

Lol very true, chico.

Look, in my opinion, no player is untouchable in the transfer market. That means if a club offers more money for a player than he's really worth, he should be sold regardless of any other circumstances regarding the club or player that may make it difficult to afford to sell him. This is one of the many "rules of the transfer market" written & followed religiously by Olympique Lyon when it comes to buying & selling players, and, given their success using those rules, I believe they work fairly well.

I'm just relieved the manager is stating there'll be no outgoings this summer. It's good news. Something to unite everyone around.

No players sold this summer...just adding to the numbers. It's all good.

Rubbish. How are we a selling club? We do business, we sell players who are A. not required, B. not performing, C. don't want to be here.

If we are a selling club then so are Man United.

Congratulations on your new job, but you're talking tripe here.

Said the same thing last season. If city or another money club come along and do what they did last year, one of our top players will leave.
If anyone thinks otherwise, they are deluding themselves.

I think that as well, blueblood. However, as I said earlier, I welcome the big clubs coming in & buying one of our top players cause they usually pay too much for them. No player is untouchable if the price is right, which would've been the case with both Lescott & Rooney if they weren't disgruntled with Everton FC.

Let us be thankful Agent Johnson wont be flogging anyone to Newcastle on the snide.
Moyes can say none of his squad are going anywhere, but the World Cup, Champions League clubs and Champions League money could yet play a factor in that. As a statement of intent, I can't fault it, but he can make a statement that no players will get injured all next season and as a statement I couldn't fault it but the realist knows that the best laid plans of mice and men do often go awry.

It's great news Moyes doesn't want to sell anyone. When healthy a very very good squad with a good mix of youth and experience, so if we can keep the squad together and add a few freebies or cheap but talented players then great. We already got Mucha to compete with Howard for next season, if can get maybe Beckford, who is not a youngster but would come on a free if I'm not mistaken and he does got talent and good qualities for a striker, and also Joe Ledley who I think could do a very good job in a more central role. If can sign those 3 along with Donovan it would be a great summer.

Ok, well tell you what rather than chat [Poor language removed], how about coming up with reasons why we are a selling club, as opposed to a business.

Genuinely puzzled at this response. We've sold to buy last two summers. Ergo: we're a selling club.

Anyway, the important thing to note is that the manager has assured us no player will be sold this summer and we'll get players in. So we're definitely not a selling club this summer.

It's all good.

So are a United a selling club also?

If any club consistently spends less than they buy then they are, yes. If you think that description fits Man United then that's your mistake.

Anyway, it's all good. We're spending not selling this summer.

So Man U are not a selling club? Is that what your saying?

I think you need to get a grip on what running a business is all about. It's all about revenue, and if that revenue comes from:

1. Commercial merchandise
2. Ticket sales
3. Entertainment rights
4. Selling stock

Footballers are commodities and like it or not, if offers arrive on the table that are too good to turn down, then they have to be sold.

I don't think we have sold a player in the past 5 years which hasn't resulted in a situation where we are a better team for it.

That's not being a selling club, that's making the use of your resources and making the club far more efficient.

You've just answered your own question on United: they have an efficient business operation and selling players is not a priority. The opposite has been the case at Everton. The basis of our business operation has been to put our hand out for the tv cash and to top this up with the sale of players...that's kept the wolf from the door for so long now it almost seems like some people have lost sight of the fact that it's the core business strategy and is anathema to building a developing and enduring organisation.
