Never heard of the fella up until 2 weeks ago as would be the same for alot on here crying themselfs to sleep at the thought of us missing out on him

Winning the league with Porto is no big thing IMO

They have won the league 19 times since 1990, Its not as if hes gone in and won it with a minnow

True. Still won it though, twice. Lost one game in 60. He's clearly not a dummy. Managed to get them out of the CL group stage too, something many big name managers haven't been able to do in recent years (Ferguson, Mancini).

The fact he was able to maintain their desired level of performance is surely a plus mark for him? Isn't that what WE all want? Someone to come in, and at the very least, keep us at the same level that Moyes had us at?

Why would you 'expect' that? He's only achieved one thing - promotion from a lower league. As Cardiff will find out next season, the Premier League is a MASSIVE step up from the Championship.

Any half decent manager can get promoted - Warnock did it how many times? Every time he came up, he never lasted long.

Lets see how Mackay does with someone else in the Premier League first. Only then will we know if he's an Everton calibre manager. Maybe he's just a Cardiff-level manager.

Because he is a good manager. I am not saying he will take Cardiff to 6th, I would take 17th in a heartbeat. He would be inheriting a very good group of players and I think he could get them to play. If you look a the gap between 7th and 8th this year it's huge, I wouldn't expect him to finish below 7th

Fair point. Done well in Europe.

Not against him like, Just dont know anything about him or his style of management, Why do some Porto fans dislike him?

So nobody wants to promote Steve Round. A mean if we're talking about continuity. Maybe Stubbs as his assistant.

You are saying he has the same level of tactical ability as Moyes then. Moyes is now managing the biggest club in the world.

I don't think people on here who like Pereira have been 'charmed', as if they've been conned/brainwashed.

I think they just highly rate the fact he's won 2 consecutive league titles and lost 1 game in 2 seasons.

As opposed to never finishing higher than 15th, just been relegated, and admittedly winning the FA Cup but also only playing 2 decent teams along the way to winning it.

Cos Wigan and Porto are just so the same sort of clubs
