You won't last long round here with posts as well thought out as that one!

I agree it's well thought out, but it's still only assumption, speculation and guesswork.

To be honest, do we know who's in the running? I missed the thing about Pereira supposedly contacting us two months ago. Has anyone got proof that this is true? Can we definitely confirm that he's even a contender, and similarly with Martinez? The truth is that nobody knows

The same can be said about these internal candidates. Who's in the frame, and who isn't? And do we know that they've definitely been interviewed for the managers job, if indeed they've been interviewed at all?

Again, nobody knows what Kenwright's thoughts or intentions are with regards to this appointment, and to somehow think we do is pure fantasy. The only sure thing I know is that I've got absolutely no conviction he'll choose the correct man.

I don't know what you constitute as proof but here's something,

I've decided in advance that I'm not going to torture myself over the summer with all this. Transfer windows are gruesome enough as it is without adding this to the equation. Whatever happens happens, and we'll just have to deal with it when it does.

Let's be blunt, does anybody think Kenwright will pull something good out the bag here, or are we all dreading his decision? Given how crucial this is to our development, or otherwise, as a club, is there anything we can realistically do to make our voice heard in this?

Nice to see the board playing a blinder by giving people something to moan about over the weekend given that nothing will change on the manager front.

I reckon this is a good news bad news thing going on, good news is we have a new badge that's utter ****, bad news is Neville is the new manager with Stubbs as number 2!

I think I can sum up my thoughts on the whole process a little quicker than that: until such time as Billy Liar and his carpetbagging mates are swept out of the club you can expect the cheapest solution to all outstanding issues. In this instance it means employing an in-house yes man who'll be grateful for the job. All the other 'possibilities' are pure fantasy.

So, you're saying there is NO chance of anyone other than an internal candidate because the Board are only interested in their own pocket? Seems an odd standpoint of theirsnto me mate if thats the case - if I were the major shareholder and had was trying to safeguard the potential windfall from my 'investment' I'd want the best damn manager available.

You can tell how nervous we are with a new manager, we've had Moyes for too long and most of us are scared and so is the board. Everyone got all different theories on the manager saga. This is not good for the fans and that is why the board should have sorted out a manager before Moyes went to Man u. Man u needed to name a manager and they did. So the rest of us have to sit around buying our nails incase the board get it wrong, this could have been prevented if the board was prepared, and why not? that another story. I agree that the board will want the best but they will be looking for someone who is LIKE Moyes cos he was a perfect manager for them. Didn't put them under no pressure. Always used his status to protect Bill and was never afraid to show who side he was on. Only an internal appointment could do this. Maybe Martinez is ideal cos he worked on a low budget, gets on with the owner, doesn't kick off and is loyal, but he not perfect cos of his win ratio, now is that down to him as a manager or the resources he worked with.
