Various media about martinez boys might not be all weir

ROBERTO MARTINEZ is ready to tell Dave Whelan he wants to leave Wigan — paving the way for his move to Goodison Park.
The Spaniard flies home from a family holiday and will go into one last set of talks with the Latics owner.
And that will see him finally tell Whelan he wants out – as he is keen to fill the boots of David Moyes at Everton.
Martinez tops Bill Kenwright’s wishlist after the Blues owner spent the past fortnight considering his next step.
Kenwright gave serious thought to Malky Mackay, who has just brought Cardiff into the top flight, Porto boss Vito Pereira and Celtic’s Neil Lennon.
Yet he is swaying heavily towards Martinez, who has just led Wigan to their first major honour in beating Manchester City to lift the FA Cup.
Now Kenwright is ready to ask Wigan for permission to speak to their manager, as soon as Martinez breaks the news to Whelan.
Stoke are also keen to speak to the Spaniard, but Everton will beat them by stealing a march with a faster approach.
Kenwright had spoken to internal hopefuls Alan Stubbs, Phil Neville and David Weir last week.
But now it will rest on how much Martinez impresses the Toffees supremo when they meet.
Ironically, Martinez was heavily linked with taking over at Merseyside rivals Liverpool last summer but opted to stay at Wigan.

Vítor Pereira is preferred Everton

According to Sky Sports, the coach of FC Porto is the priority of the English club, which has seven alternatives.

In the British press in general is a given that Vítor Pereira can even move to Everton, although several newspapers denying the existence of any pre-agreement.
According to Sky Sports, the coach still FC Porto is even the preferred direction of the Merseyside club alongside the Spaniard Roberto Martinez, manager of Wigan. In the next few hours novelties can arise, given that Vitor Pereira also has in hand a proposal for renewal of FC Porto.
Besides Vítor Pereira and Roberto Martinez are six other names appointed to succeed for Everton manager David Moyes, who moved to Manchester United, they are: Phil Neville, David Weir, Alan Stubbs, Michael Laudrup, Malky Mackay and Roberto Di Matteo.

Everton’s Top Manager Pick is Porto’s Vitor Pereira

Everton is among the many top clubs of the Premier League whose managers are leaving.

Since David Moyes’ confirmation that he will be Sir Alex Ferguson’s successor at Premier League’s current champs Manchester United, Everton has been looking at several possible replacements for the Scot manager.

On top of the list and considered to be the favorite choice is Porto’s Vitor Pereira. Speculation has surfaced of a verbal agreement between the 44-year-old manager and Everton’s board. The Purtoguese manager is said to be offered a 2-year contract but this has not been confirmed by both parties. Pereira’s contract with Porto is ending by the end of June, just in time for Premier League’s pre-season. This also means the club will not be paying Porto any compensation for the manager, making him free to join any club at the end of the season.

Other contenders for the position are said to be Cardiff City’s Malky Mackay, Wigan Athletic’s Roberto Martinez, and US national team’s head coach Jurgern Klinsman. However, it is Pereira who is mostly likely to get the job.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is said to be an admirer of Pereira, who has led Porto to back-to-back Portuguese titles and a recent unbeaten season. However, it is still too soon to confirm any deals since Kenwright and the Everton board will still have to decide upon the appointment within the next month.
