This Ralph guys seems okay but a bad run of form and the fans get on him...he will quit due to exhaustion. I think hes a bit flakey.

Indeed. I would have thought he'd have a very good knowledge of the German youth player market.

If it's true he's being considered as DoF then he should be brought on board before a new head coach comes, so that he can have an input on who is appointed.

I wouldn't be entirely against that either. Although not sure that someone like Martinez would work under a DoF

A bit meh about it to be honest, not gutted or happy, just meh..

Yeah I feel the same mate. Come on Bill - if today's the day, make it special. This is one of the few opportunities you will have in your tenure to do something truly INSPIRATIONAL - to really change the momentum of this great club and get about the oppo. Be brave Bill.

I know that its more than likey going to be Martinez, but, just thinking IF it wasn't, and we got A.N Other in, Martinez also doesn't get the Malaga job, then who does Whelan get his £2m off? Martinez himself? Or does he just have to go back to Wigan to see out his contract?

Would Martinez of been in this position at all if it wasn't for Whelans big mouth?

Makes me think Martinez has been a shoe-in all along. When he was flirting with Villa and the RS he never came out and said he wanted to leave.

Lennon!? Really?!

Honestly, yes it would be

He's not my first choice, but I'd have him above Martinez and Ralf right now

My order of preference would be

Vitor (People on here have really sold him to me)
Lennon (The Double and the Barca win have him edge over MacKay)
MacKay (Impressed he got promotion)
Martinez (Can't get over the relegation)
Ralf (Just because I know so little about him)

Sh!t, creak and paddle spring to mind

What do you think of the idea that Ralf is being interviewed for a Director of Football type role though?

Ralf 3rd out of three for me. Seems like the type who'd leave quickly and a managerial merry go round would be disastrous for us.

Maybe appointing his as DoF with Martinez under him would reduce the risk. I quite like that as an arrangement personally, the pair of them could impart the latest Spanish and German wisdom on our already very good coaching and academy set up. Bit pie in the sky though.

I'd be amazed if we went down the director of football road. That is completely against the Everton DNA.

Think Martinez has always been the prefered choice, whilst taking the opportunity to speak to other candidates as part of the course.
