Moyes is a hard act to follow in that department. But Kone for less than 3 million, maloney for 1 million, Moses for 2,5 million. Those are three excellent signings. Diame and McArthur picked up for free isn't bad either.

Then there's 5 million for ramis, 6.5 for boseli and 2 for scotland, mind.

All managers make mistakes tho with transfers even moyes.... Tbh tho there's only Moses would be good enough for here IMO. But then on the other hand I don't suppose Martinez has had the same pool of players to pick from.

I must admit I'm warming to Martinez a lot more as the hours pass.

Looking at the poll at the top of this thread, Laudrup is seemingly the clear choice amonst the fans, with Pereira and Martinez in second and third respectively.

Given that two of these are the managers linked in the BBC article (Martinez and Laudrup), we seem to be doing OK.

And then we'll appoint Mark Hughes.

Baines cant leave cause I love him

Baines is 100% sure to leave mate.

He´s been a fantastic servant for our club and will probably be Moyes first buy as Utd manager. The lad won´t hesitate, he´s starting to get on a bit and he´s getting the chance to play in the CL for the biggest club in country under a manager who values and respects him. No-brainer.

If I go out now and put a lot of money on this happening and it doesn't can I come and see you for a refund? 100% is very sure.

Do you not tire of being so horribly pessimistic? It's possible baines could go, but 100%? Don't be ridiculous.

A mate of a mate said that Raymond Sparks is begging Everton to come in for Malky Mackay, still think it's going to be Martinez though.

Thing about Laudrup is he never stays at a club for long. We'd get a season or two out of him then have to find someone else.

Good point. There's also the added annoyance of him inevitably being annualy linked with the Real Madrid job each time they sack their manager.

Doesn't really change things, though. We're talking paying 16k a week to a player who'd go to west ham for 14K.

The example given was Boksic going to Boro for £60K per week?

Wigan's low wage bill is due to their cap, limiting the individual pay which still allows them to have a large squad but just of lower paid pro's. He's had to take 'up & comings' from South America & Europe, as well as some who've missed the grade at bigger clubs e.g. Maloney. So he's not had the luxury of being able to keep players once their stock has risen, that's the prime difference between his set of circumstances & Moyes.
