Benitez is probably angling for the Man City job. He mentioned a top side with money, a chance to win trophies, and he mentioned a proper project. I would take Benitez if he would be happy only generating money from sales to spend.

well i took malky and laudrups words as saying they wont be after the everton job tbh.

malky has a rich chairman and looks to be building onto what hes already acheived.
laudrup the same but has european football as an incentive to stay.
martinez also has european football to look forward to.even if wigan go down , martinez comes across as the type of man who would stay to rectify there drop and regain promotion.
lennon may be tempted i think , but has champions league football to look forward to and will split the fans if appointed.hes just not liked in truth.

out of the 4 id think martinez would be the most suited but now believe all 4 are out of the running.

neville's interview and body language when talking about his future and the next few weeks on the os was curious and i think hes still in with a big shout. in all honesty im not against this , i think he knows the club and the game well enough to become a good manager.

pereira would be good obviously, but i just cant see it happening . id hate it immensley but id put my money on stubbs , hughes or o'neil getting the job before pereira is even consided.

as for benitez , i cant even beleive he would be considered by the club or fans. whats next aldridge as assistant and ian rush as club ambassador ? benitez stinks of dirty red and i refuse to even consider him anywhere nere our club not as a toilet attendant let alone manager.

whoever its going to be , kenwright says its gonna take time. imo yes it has to be the right man but has to be as soon as possible to ive us a bit of stabilty and belief. sooner the managers in the sooner he can get to know the squad and make his own plans/transfers for next season.

Porto President said he had already made his mind up about Vitor before they beat Benfica 2-1 to basically secure the league as long as they win again next week.

So likelyhood is Moneyball FC isn't going to give him a new contract even if he retains the league and goes unbeaten in the process.

You have to ask why that is, and I get the impression that it's because some people view him as an arrogant arsehole.

But I don't know if that's the case, because like most people on here, I don't have a clue what he is like as I've never seen him conduct a single English speaking video. There are videos of him on Youtube but he is talking in Portuguese.

Mourinho is the most arrogant man I've ever seen and still a great manager so I've no problem with it if he is!

It's a fine line though, it's fine being arrogant when things are going well, it doesn't go down so well if you're struggling.

Just seems funny that Porto aren't arsed about him leaving, and I've read snippets of him not being popular with their fans.

He has a good record though, and sounds exciting, hopefully exciting enough to attract top players if we get him.

If the board were ambitious they'd go for someone like Bielsa, but he'd probably scare the balls off them.
