I may be offering an opinion many disagree with, but I would be a fan of Paul Lambert at least being considered for the job. Great pedigree of the player, British manager and had great success at Norwich. Now at Villa he had a massive job on his hand turning around an aging, financially crippling side, and if they stay up are poised for future success

Im not as against Lambert as I was, but its still a no for me.

For the same reason as im against Martinez, neither can get 2 wins together on the bounce.

The only positive I can think of about Lambert is that Barkley would definitely get a game as he's badly Yewtree (loves the kids)

Ok, I know who I want for next Everton manager, he ticks all the necessary boxes:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...lub-after-discussions-with-Arsene-Wenger.html

-european experience

-is out of contract so there's no compensation involved

-can win on a small budget against bankrolled competition

-excellent with youth players (was France u21 2004-08)

-is french which is ace, I don't trust these sneaky iberian types

-wants badly to manage in england, has appreciation for the english style of play

-plays attractive attacking football but can also organise a defence properly

-would maybe bring belhanda with him (oh yes please)

René Girard, boys and girls. I'm desperate for this to happen. So he'll sign with Newcastle and we'll get Pardew. ffs.

Yep, I reckon Girard's nailed on for Newcastle

I think the most important thing we need in a manager Is someone who can buy well and cheap like moyes has done the last 10yrs. We could get a great manager but if you can't buy well and cheap at Everton you'll be in big trouble.

It's why I think a foreign manager with No PL experience could be a potentially bad choice.

I think just the opposite, with the amount of money coming into the Premiership, it will be more important to have a manager who knows at least one foreign leagues well where he can cherry-pick talent.

Martin O'Neill, for example, has had the inability to look outside of England for his purchases and that has contributed to his complete failure in the transfer market.

I disagree. I think foreign managers generally are more used to working in tight budget structures than English managers who have only worked in the greed is good money league.

But why shouldn't we be in for him? I reckon Everton are a more attractive prospect to manage then Horse Punchers FC are. I know they've got loads of Frenchies over there but we have Mirallas, Distin, Fellaini, all of whom speak French as a first language. Anyway if he wanted to manage a team full of French lads I reckon he'd just stay in Ligue 1.

I think you can pay attention to the bookies when one of the candidates falls to roughly 1/2 or lower, until then they're just balancing the bets I'd say.

It's all about the rush of money, sky sports reported Lennon was the front runner the other day and the bookies took so many bets he went in 1/3, all over tv coverage.
