i cant see the attraction with martinez lots of managers have crap transfer budgets an have to sell there best players the media hype round him is unjustified for all his GREAT WORK! his team are all but relegated so for me id want a manager like laudrup, Vitor Pereira or even benitez someone who wins games

I think just the opposite, with the amount of money coming into the Premiership, it will be more important to have a manager who knows at least one foreign leagues well where he can cherry-pick talent.

Martin O'Neill, for example, has had the inability to look outside of England for his purchases and that has contributed to his complete failure in the transfer market.

Completely agree on the MON thing and yes a foreign manager will know players from another league which of course can be a bonus and something we need with our low finances but you also need to be able to buy the home grown guys who can come in straight away ect. Moyes could do both.... Baines jags Coleman - needed a couple of years then bang quality British players. Gibson Cahill Distin - straight into the team and great, fellaini pienaar Arteta mirallas - foreign relatively in heard of but great buys.

Point being you need to be able to do both. One is no good without the other. Look at Newcastle this year.

Man Utd go British with Moyes - wonder will Everton & Kenwright take plunge & go European with Porto's Vitor Pereira if they could get him?

Both Gregg O'Keeffe and Phil McNulty said we should go for Vitor Pereira. A manager with high calibre is what we need.

In real money (20 posts per page) how many pages will this thread get to before we get a manager?

I'm going for 949.

I now want Thomas Tuchel.

For some reason I have always thought Distin would make a good manager one day. Just saw the mention of French managers and thought of him. Not that im saying we get him in now or anything!

Only with Joachim Loew as his assistant

All this crap from Kenwright about "we'll take out time and make sure we consult the fans and get the right manager in". We all know it'll be the cheapest option and somebody he can use as a puppet and who agrees with his no net spend approach to football chairmanship.

I wouldn't be surprised if Steve McClaren got the job ffs.
