Moyes pushed out by entitled West Ham Fans

The football Everton played when Lescott Baines Pienaar Arteta Osman Cahill Yakubu were all in the line up was the best we’ve played aesthetic wise in the premier league easily. It was at a technical level better than anything else we’ve produced.
I took the hard drive out of an old Freeview box the other day and downloaded the odd bits still on it. Two home wins against Blackburn and West Ham. Played them both off the park. The 2-0 win at City stands out too,a game we controlled totally from the first minute until the final whistle. Funny how time distortes the perception of some of the football we played under Moyes...knife to a gunfight blah blah.

I agree with them tbh. They have the best squad they have had in quite some time, and should be doing better. Moyes can keep you safe from the drop but he'll never be a winner. He just knows how not to 'lose'.

Always quite liked West Ham, hope they do well after he goes
He'll never be a winner? Except for their most recent trophy?

It’s just lazy stereotyping as usual.

Some of the football under Moyes was poor no doubt, some of it was the best we’ve played in the prem, but anyone just deriding his entire tenure as keep it tight and pinch one, or knife to a gunfight is being lazy.

It’s the same as Martinez’s first season. You’d think it was 09-11 Barcelona the way some people go on about it. I saw every game that season, there were some when we were absolutely brilliant but there were many games when we were dire for 60 minutes and then won the game thanks to a player being subbed on (usually when Martinez finally went to Pienaar Osman or Naismith) or a wonder goal from Barkley Lukaku or Mirallas from an individual effort tor free kick. Even the first few games were absolutely tedious and bland stale possession was on show in large parts of lots of games. By the end of the season there were quite a few sounding warning signs about the trajectory of the football and it was bourne out in the next couple of seasons.

I will always respect Moyes for what he did at Everton. Nothing will take away the fact that we had a football team that we could get behind again. We were sinking fast, with a bunch of over age players. He came in and basically had to change a whole squad from day one.

During his tenure we played some wonderful football, along with some effective football. His one major flaw was getting over the hurdle of expectation, that he himself set. That will always, unfortunately, be his final legacy at Everton. But behind that legacy is a man who woke up a club that was going nowhere fast and for that he deserves respect, maybe not admiration but at the very least respect.

He added it to his vast collection of 1 community shield, several 7th place trophies, the 7:1 vs Sunderland DVD trophy and the FA Cup Finalist 2nd place trophy.
But you wouldn't take that now and prefer the recent get safe with a nail biting come from two down and the last game 1-0 win model or this seasons superior effortless... with three games to go triumph.

How is that relevant to the reason he's leaving for or that he never pushed on and never will?

Yeah I'd take the 80s success over the 3 relegation fights too, shocker.

Playing the 80s card.😉 I was thinking more of the 7th place trophy years compared to the waiter debacle and after.

And I mean that it's still largely irrelevant to why he's leaving now like - we'd all take a midtable finish right now cuz we're garbage, but it seems Dyche, who I rate very poorly as a manager, is doing the same job as Moyes on no spend and with this "not being his team". No idea why anyone would see WHam struggle with him and his own players that he bought for real money and think "oh he can emulate twenty years ago with us again now" lol

I think you've mistaken me for someone who wants Moyes back. I only posted on this thread to point out to another member that WHU had actually won a trophy while he was managing. Dyche is very much the English version of Moyes pointless to swap one for the other.

Apples Vs Citrus Fruit...and Moyes was a 7th/8th-ish average apple.
Yes, Dyche may be a bit of a Lemon - but when we needed it - he made Lemonade

I've no problems with Dyche he's done wonders considering our position. My point was that we didn't know how good we had it in the days of the 7th place trophy. Fairly regular European football and the odd trip to Wembley.

Well said

Seems harsh for Moyesie but I definitely wouldn't want him back at Everton. No way José Mourinho.
Oops. Freudian slip!
