Moyes sacked by United

Me too.
I'm not here to argue with anyone or offend. My 'bitter' remark was because he was coming across as bitter not because I think Evertonians are bitter. If anything, you're a humble lot and your red neighbours are the most bitter, spiteful people around.

I enjoy this forum a lot - the mods are sound, and reasonable. I'm quite a colourful character at times, I admit - and I'll always stick up for my club but I do try to be objective. I'm not deluded, I know United were rubbish last season and that we needed investment on better players.

But for a club as big as Man Utd to hire a no-mark like Moyes was awfully silly. Can you imagine Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Barcelona going in for him? Because believe it or not, we're up there with those kind of clubs when it comes to stature and supporter base.

It was bonkers. Sir Bobby and Sir Alex were smoking the funny stuff at the time, I'm sure of it.

There are a handful of managers in world football who have the talent etc etc to manage the biggest clubs. Moyes was never going to be up there. But he is a chairmans dream manager in so many other ways.

Basically, yes! He left a fantastic goal keeper in De Gea and that's about it. And he let too many players stick around on big wages for far too long. Which is quite ironic considering he didn't take any rubbish. Young, Anderson, Cleverley, Welbeck, Hernandez, Evans, Evra, Fletcher and Bebe should have been sold a long time ago. Thankfully, Van Gaal won't accept this according to Daley Blind's interview today. Anderson etc won't be here in January/next summer.

My United supporting mates have been saying that every year since about 2009

but he left Martinez with a hell of a better chance of success than Ferguson did with Moyes.

How? Ferguson left him with a team that won the league and a big pot of gold to use to buy players. How did Moyes leave Martinez more than that?

Whether or not Rio should have come out publicly is questionable, but Moyes was quick to use the media when it suited. How can we forget him turning up as a pundit, in the studio for live games at a time when linked with the Spurs job, or frequently coming out in the media and blaming lack of resources for lack of success. He even did the same at Utd hinting the blame should be aimed at Woodward instead of himself for the fact they couldn't bring in the top names he was after. Moyes reputation was largely built by his media dealings.

We may not like Rio, but he's basically confirmed what most people felt about Moyes when he was Everton manager. He is all about setting up to not get beat, and to 'hit the frontman'. The interesting thing for me about Rio's comments was when he said Moyes was afraid of confrontation. Obviously from the outside looking in, we'd have never really noticed this.

i don't think van gaal would have had a much better season had he not been chucked another £80m to get blind, di maria and falcao.

By all accounts Moyes had the same money to spend though, but couldn't attract players of that calibre. Let's not try and say that Moyes is comparable in ability to Van Gaal because their records are massively different.

As for the smoking you may be right or they had their noses down to the table. Good result for you at the weekend. As an Everton fan I cannot say long may they continue, I am sure you will understand.

Keith Gillespie was on the radio this morning, saying in a roundabout way that Newcastle fans would rather have Pulis or Bruce than Moyes.

Incredible how much things can change within twelve months in football.

Moyes needs to either go abroad and reinvent himself like McClaren did or join Graham Taylor on the comedy advert circuit. He's a joke in this country right now.

Terrible from @bizzaro being obnoxious to the United fan on here and causing a problem.

It's obviously not for me to decide how to deal with him but he's doing a disservice to all sound Evertonians and opposition fans who live together in perfect harmony on here.

I hate em all.

I barely like Everton fans.

Aint got no time for orrible manc tramps who started supporting the team in 2013.

would you rather have pulis or moyes? honestly mind...

pulis did very well at palace, but he was hardly a genius at stoke

moyes is perfect for newcastle at the moment i would say
