Moyes sacked by United

Moyes is basically fine if you want to steady the ship on a budget

That's what Newcastle and Villa need right now

Have Moyes for a couple of years and then bring in a new manager with a bit more ambition when Ashley eventually sells

Paul Lambert and David Moyes are about the same calibre of manager so I'd agree with this - Villa would be perfect for The Ginger One.

I would of loved to have seen your views on Moyes before he was oppointed Utd gaffer. No doubt he has left a bad taste in your mouth; as well as many a manc; but i would of loved to have seen your views on him say... 3 years ago.

I would bet my house on it that it wouldn't be the same views you hold today. You defo wouldn't be saying the likes of Lambert, Bruce and Pulis are in the same category as Moyes. Not the biggest Moyes fan at the end of his reign here, but i'm not having some of things you're saying about him. I thought you said you weren't deluded mate.

Moyes stayed too long at Everton, but he left a much better squad than the one he inherited

We were relegation fodder when he arrived and top half of the table regulars when he left

Yes, he should have achieved more, but he did a solid job and I'm not going to knock him

Ever since the two wins last season, any anger I had in relation to him going to United has pretty much gone

He paid us decent money for Felli in the end, despite the original insult of the Baines offer

I wish him well. I hope he takes over at a club like Newcastle and does the best he can with them

He might even get the Celtic job if Deila gets crap canned

My views on him 3 years ago can be dug up from RedCafe, I'll try and find a few posts and copy them here when I finish work later mate - I did realise that the Dour One existed before he took over at United you know! I will never forget the day I heard he was appointed as our new boss - I was close to tears, and I am not exaggerating!

I couldn't stand him or watching Everton (no offence). I ALWAYS avoided Everton if you were on tv and have done for years until Martinez took over. I couldn't stand him, he was dour, negative, his post match interviews were dull as dishwater.

I hate Moyes now.

I wanted him gone from our club after the Gerrard derby, he was not good enough for us by that point.

Getting the United job was a joke, and from day 1 was obvious to those who really knew Moyes how it was going to turn out.

I love Alex Ferguson for all this, just remember, if it was not for him....we would have give Moyes a new 4 year contract.

Sit next to a City supporter at work, and he essentially said the same thing

Says he just didn't like Moyes at all, but he started liking Everton once he left

I had no idea just how unpopular Moyes was with fans of other clubs

Same with me. I really like Everton now, it's weird. I wasn't keen on you lot at all when Gollum was in charge. I never, ever rated him and wondered why the hell Everton stuck with him for so long? You could have had Sam Allardyce or Tony Pulis in charge, it wouldn't have been any different. Yet apparently Moyes "did amazing work at Everton" according to some journos and pundits. Baffling.

Then its no surprise you hold the views you do. Sure we had the odd one or two games where we played diabolical, but for the most part we were pretty decent to watch. Certainly the last 5 or so years under him we played some tidy stuff; and in comparison to the late 90's (probably what you remember) it was light years.

Everyone has different ideas of good/attractive footy though. I mean, some Liverpool supporters think that Rafael's teams played some excellent stuff. I thought they were like watching Bolton with a world class striker carrying them, though.
