Moyes sacked by United

Yes, I have a wife. And a son. But really, I could be a single, cross dressing homosexual gent living on his own and you lot would never know the difference - the beauty of the internet, eh? I could be anyone! Just like you ;)

And please, PLEASE don't compare King Louis of Van Gaal to David Moyes. It's simply laughable.

What did I read on Twitter when we signed Mata under Moyes last season? Oh that's right, 'Giving Mata to Moyes is like giving your grandad a smart phone.' And that was an Arsenal fan Tweeting that, not a disgruntled United supporter!

King Louis who guided united expertly to a draw at Burnley, a narrow loss to Swansea and a plucky effort at the mighty MK Dons?

Just because he isn't in the top tier of managers doesn't mean he isn't/wasn't a good one though, especially for us. He had his flaws but the comparison you make to Allardyce is laughable. We'd have been languishing in the bottom half for sure if we'd had Allardyce as our manager.

Oh ffs

Christ, this has been a few pages of Everton fans going 'yea, Moyes failed at United but he didn't fail at Everton and generally he's not that bad a manager' and this Manc Meltdown fella screaming that Moyes was the worst ever, "found out by 2005 VillaReal, 11 seasons and accomplishing nothing at Everton', do you actually watch football? You'd think Moyes was Joe Kinnear the way this fellas going on, dower in interviews?? you'd swear United were managed by Jimmy Fallon for the last two decades. Do me a favor and stick to the mildly amusing twitter account.

Based on? To be fair to Allardyce it's not very often he finishes in the bottom half. I don't like him at all, but let's not kid ourselves here, the only real difference between Moyes and Allardyce is media perception. Moyes was like a politician playing the media to enhance his own image. Working miracles on a tight budget, yet pushing Everton's wage bill to the limit on extended contracts for ageing players. He did the same at Utd offering Nani a 5 year deal, Utd are still paying for that now.

Once Moyes lost that Cup Final (didn't he say we scored too early?) it was game over for him, cos he was hopelessly found out. That glass ceiling he so often blamed on the club's finances was actually in place due to his limitations. After that Cup Final it was all about conservation within the club while Moyes touted himself out to try and get a 'better' job.

You read Rio's comments and you can see why our players sht themselves every time we had a big game. Howard said as much in an article last year about how refreshing it is to look forward to games.

I've always wondered if the powers that be at United set Moyes up to fail. Maybe he was a release valve put in place by Ferguson et al to release the pressure of the big egos in the dressing room and clear the way for a more established manager. Possibly too much of a conspiracy theory, and they did give him a 6 year deal. I think LVG will do well there but I think most managers (including him) would have made the same mess of things coming in straight after Ferguson.

Ofcourse he was let down by the players and the board.

Van Gaal has had to replace most of the team to get them playing well.

It was always going to be much harder for Moyes and the person who followed him.

Didn't the club's value plummet though and they've taken a big hit in revenue because of the lack of Champions League football. Now because they've fallen so far they've had to go down the Galactico route and spend a fortune on big names to and enhance their brand again. Bit of a risky strategy if that's what they did. I think Moyes had blagged SAF big time over what he could do etc. and the United board felt they may be able to maintain what they had on the cheap. After all, the side that won the Premiership would easily finish top 4 next season right?

why would he need to though? his capabilities (or lack of) were there for all to see
