I've always wondered if the powers that be at United set Moyes up to fail. Maybe he was a release valve put in place by Ferguson et al to release the pressure of the big egos in the dressing room and clear the way for a more established manager. Possibly too much of a conspiracy theory, and they did give him a 6 year deal. I think LVG will do well there but I think most managers (including him) would have made the same mess of things coming in straight after Ferguson.
. I think the "ego pressure release" has occurred...but I don't thin k it was deliberately planned as such. But, good theory nonetheless

Was with Philadelphia Union for a couple of matches, but their CEO denies that he's being considered for their open coaching job. Claims that he was "on his way to another location in the United States" and has "developed a friendship with the club after their 2011 match against Everton."

Whatever, mate. Whatever.

...“David Moyes is a friend and colleague of a number of us within our club and he was visiting our youth academy and club setup on his way to another location in the US,” Sakiewicz stated. “We played Everton FC in 2011 at PPL Park and since then we’ve had a friendship with David. He is an outstanding individual and we are honored to know him and have an ongoing relationship.”

Sakiewicz has stayed mostly quiet on the coaching search since firing John Hackworth in early June and naming Jim Curtin as the interim.

In an interview with MLSsoccer.com last month, he confirmed that former Montreal Impact head coach Jesse Marsch and former US national-team players Tony Meola and John Harkes were on the shortlist. Reports have also surfaced that former Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen is a leading candidate for the position....

New York City FC already have a pretty good manager in Jason Kreis. Orlando City SC currently have Adrian Heath (yes, that one), but I don't know if he'll stay with for the transition to MLS.

Does Moyes living in Florida make anybody else giggle?
