MOYES, YOU ARE OUT OF ORDER

A club doesnt have to have a manager to make bids for players.

Chelsea buy shed loads without a manager etc.

So official or not...the CLUB can go after anyone they want.

Didnt United by some right back from Uruguay a few weeks ago? Surely that was Moyes' signing. He's been waiting years to bag that kid...years....now he finally got him.

Behave mate.

Am I the only one not arsed? I love bainsey like, my favourite an probably put best player.

To see him leave for them is a bit sickening, but what's DNM supposed to do? He wants a player. He isn't our manager anymore? LB hasn't been sold,BK (laughably) told him not to come back for any players.

Typical BK, old fashioned and naive. Players will leave and our new super duper manager has his work cut out to replace them..

Im not arsed either mate.

Its football, as some might know, I was 1 of Moyes biggest "supporters", but hes gone, hes moved on, he knows what kind of player Baines is, not only is he 1 of, if not the best LB in world football, hes also a cracking fella, from what I can tell, good family man who spends his spare time with his family or playing his guitar. I would also imagine hes an utter joy in training.

Then on match days he runs and runs for the full 90minutes, even plays on with injuries, gives the team all hes got and creates so many chances its unreal, from the outside, thats what I see, but im sure Moyes sees more, much more.

I will state again, if Moyes wasnt interested in Baines, he has no right to be a football manager, infact, shame on the other 9000 football managers in the world for not bidding.

Hes bidding actual money, granted 12m is a farce of a bid, but dont ask, dont get, start the bid with a 3 Moyes lad, then we can talk more, otherwise, KOFF LAD, YEAH?

These. If we have to swallow this bitter pill let's get it over and done with now, and look forward to getting some new faces in with the money. Still think Marty might persuade him to stay though, but it has to be sorted one way or the other quickly.

You're incorrect that Moyes was looked upon as a cult hero. Likewise, there is no cult of personality. No one has been "fooled" by anyone. I think after 11 years, people worked out how Moyes went about his job. No one has ever compared him to Duncan Ferguson except you. I still think that's the strangest part of the post. No one has even made out Moyes has had anything like the relationship with Everton that Ferguson did or said anything to suggest he has cult hero status. It's a very odd choice of comparison. I don't think this really needs to be said, but the "People's Club" quote didn't keep him in a job at all. Finally, not one person has ever insinuated that Moyes is bigger than the club. The only people who have suggested that people think this are those looking to score points against people who supported Moyes. All of the things I've referred to are things you typed and they are all incorrect.

How is it ridiculous to assign character traits to someone who's worked here 11 years? Are you saying you've never praised or knocked his character?

How on earth does saying "In Moyes We Trust" mean "I think Moyes is bigger than Everton"?

You've used the word "cult" rather a lot. We both know that is completely daft when referring to Everton fans or their attitudes towards Moyes ffs.
I am most certainly not wrong.

"In Moyes We Trust" couldn't be any more evidence of a cult of personality.

I didn't compare him to Ferguson either; I said Ferguson was an example of a cult hero, that's all. Again, you're putting words in my mouth.

Common sense attack just got ya. lol

Ha not at all - I just can't believe you're serious. The way the club has handled this while Moyes thing from start to finish has been pathetic. The fact some fans don't seem to mind is just a little odd for me. Moyes and United are taking the absolute piss out of us. I'm perfectly willing to agree that Kenwright has a lot to answer for in this.

The second Moyes told him he wanted to leave Kenwright should have said thanks for everything now stay at home on gardening leave and your stuff will be sent home to you tomorrow. And also a nice "you know where we stand with which players mean everything to us and the financials of it all - now please don't be a prick and abuse this. You're at United now you can get any player you want." When the bid came in on Friday Kenwright should have been straight on to Sky Sports mocking Moyes for his hypocrisy and making clear he's in breach of contract.

This will be a good recipe of another Poyetgate. Which, IMO, is further deteriorating our already unfashionable market position.

On the other hand, the cult of personality in which the manager has the final and only say in buying and selling players are gone. Clubs trade players with or without a manager, and I can be pretty sure that once Moyes got the United job his work here would be limited to the training pitch and the dugout.

It's right not to be arsed...why should our former manager who laughed his bollocks off at the thought of receiving £12M for Baines - the manager of the richest club in the world - be censured for taking the piss and trying his hand with a bid that'll deny us money to build a decent team?

That's just moaning for moaning's sake.

Well in Moyesie...take Fellaini for £5M, and you'd be a mug for not trying to get Coleman for a million after just shelling out 60K for him. You're such a smooth operator.

Clap clap clap.

12M is certainly not a fair price, but his valuation has certainly gone down even he is a better footballer than a year before.

In fact for me I would be very happy to engineer a sale at around 16-20m, as this might be the second last year that he could have significant resale value, and imho it makes sense for United to probe at 12M.

In *insert name here* We Trust is a pretty standard phrase used by many clubs about their managers. It means we trust David Moyes to manage our club and no more. If RM does as well I'll trust him as well.

A club doesnt have to have a manager to make bids for players.

Chelsea buy shed loads without a manager etc - they spent about £50million without a manager last season.

So official or not...the CLUB can go after anyone they want.

No, there's no possible explanation other than Moyes throwing in a £12m bid that he knew would be rejected just to "take the piss". None at all.

One - I know a few had a bug bear with him being in charge for the last 2 games. I had no problem with that. The only ones that thought liberties were taken were a certain amount of fans. Everyone else didnt either care or gave it a second thought.

Two - How is he clearly in breach of contract? Like I say, clubs make bids with or without an official manager. They already enquired about him last season. United are the top club in the country having just won the league. Baines is the best full back in the division/Europe. They've come in again. If Moyes wasnt even at the club, they still wouldve put a bid in as Baines is a quality player that should attract top clubs in his signature.

How this leads to a breach of contract, I don't know.

I personally think Baines will tell them to koff, just like he did last Summer.

Fcking love you Leighton lid.

The only one I have faith with in this situation is Baines. He seems a really genuine lad and even if he is sold I dont think he'd ever seek the move and stab us in the back. The rest: Moyes, Kenwright, Elstone, SAF, Woodward I wouldn't trust them one iota.

How the hell are people so sure Moyes is being paid by Everton right now ?

I'll be very surprised if Everton have both Martinez and Moyes on the pay roll at the same time or after the announcement anyway.

Surely some sort of compromise was reached between Moyes and the 2 clubs announced or not. I don't think Moyes or United are so miser that they care about a months wages here or there either way.

IF he's still under contract to Everton - which we're all told he is then IF Moyes has had anything to do with the Baines bid then it's the clearest breach of contract possible - don't you agree?

Moyes being the buying manager still under contract makes it messy.

Look at what will happen tomorrow - Martinez will likely then start bidding for Kone and bring Alvaraz through. That's the least Moyes could have done in this sorry business over Baines. He'd have still got stick over the price offered, but at least he wouldn't have added insult to injury. And it's not a small thing either. The fact he didn't hang on shows a cavalier attitude toward the club he just left.

It's pretty poor. I thought United were supposed to be good at this sort of stuff? They've jumped in with a pair of size 12 boots on here. But hey, we dont matter. It's all about showing who's in charge.
