MOYES, YOU ARE OUT OF ORDER

Such a fuss over nothing IMO. Oh my god football manager wants to sign a top player who he previously managed and his new club have been after for years! Shock horror!! He'd be a poor manager if he wasn't going for Baines.

Moyes won't of told them what to offer they have someone who deals with that sort of thing at utd. And apart from maybe a bit of writing on a bit of paper moyes hasn't been our manager for at least a month now.

18M is massive money for a 29yr old left back.

I've trotted a line trying to offer an alternative view to the board bashing on here for many's a while. In part at least I felt it was ****ging off the board without due evidence and proper reason. However, the way Kenwright has handled Moyes' departure has left me cold and frustrated. We're in the middle of a right state of flux at the minute but Bill could easily have come out of this a million times better in my books.

For sure.

Bill has created this situation.

With his intimate knowledge of our finances and board's resolve (or lack of), he will have identified how low we'll go.

You reckon the people negotiating a deal for Baines didn't give Moyes a quick call on the dog and bone and ask what figure BK would have settled for last year? Very naive mate.

Of course I do mate but that figure certainly wouldn't of been 12M which is what they bid. I imagine moyes may of told them what the magic number is to grab Baines (16-18M) from there the negiotiaters have taken over and started a bidding process with a starting bid of 12M.

Eh?!? So by your definition we should sell every player when he reaches his max sale value?

He's out best player and is uniquely valuable to us. There's pots of money for every place finish. Four years of Baines could easily yield £16m+ in place money.
750k/place, to be exact. And don't forget his is on a pretty handsome wage.

With our commercials probably won't working for another ~10 years (Unless we got another big football nation regular to make ourselves more fashionable) we better go by sell to buy.

Yeah, but this public bidding war to try and appease the fans when both parties know the figure doesn't sit very well with me, makes us feel even more small time than we already are. The 12mil bid was just to show the interest and they know fully well the exact number we're after, it stinks.

One club puts in a bid for a player, the other club reject it.

And we now have 6 pages of faux outrage where if you don't agree with someones opinion, you are automatically attacked by the strawman.
Great :confused3:

No YOU are wrong pal. You are the person incessantly whingeing about being shafted and bringing up Moyes. Like he said, Moyes has gone and it's about time you moved on. Your level of bitterness is reprehensible.

Laughable. And pack it in with the personal ****.

I'm not the only one p*ssed off with this - far from it.

Don't tell me to move on. I'll do what the hell I please.

It's not "bitterness" to be angry when the club I love is being taken for a ride and made to look beyond small time by a man that - until recently - was milking us for every penny he could. Eleven years as one of the best paid managers in the game and he acts like this over Baines.

He could have waited until he was at least at United and then done any bidding in private. Established the price that Kenwright would accept and move on either way.

Stinks?? No It doesn't, it's football....

Small time?? Utd or Everton have not commented on this, only "sky sources" believe....

It's all moaning for moaning's sake IMO but hey each to there own!

You meant to quote me I think :)

I'm not moaning, I'm upset at losing our best player, it does stink (perhaps in NZ we use the word differently to the UK?), as in it sucks big time if we lose him. You're not upset at him going? I love watching Baines play for Everton.

I think Baines is the only player that every single fan would be upset about losing, and that is probably why people are getting in such a state - there is no counter argument that we should cash in, no suggestions of who we could get to replace him etc - he is our one truly world class player and we love him.

However, it should be borne in mind that we have received one bid and rejected it. No need for any obituaries just yet.

And just for the record - F*** off Moyes, he is ours
