I think it is naieve to say that David Moyes has had no input into any bid that Utd make for a player.
He has effectively been their manager for six weeks now, although we have been paying his salary.
I cannot help but feel that there is an awful lot more to this story than has been revealed, that is if there is any truth in the story at all.
David Moyes and Bill Kenwright have worked closely together for nearly a dozen years. They bought and sold players together and each stood solidly behind the other whenever they were in trouble.
They had at least a couple of conversations that we know of while Moyes was negotiating his Utd contract. Those conversations were probably not about whay curtains Moyes wanted in his new office or the selling price of Magaye Gueye.
Baines and Fellaini will have been mentioned and each man will know where the other stood. Both men know the character of Baines and both know that he will not rock the boat and leave it to the clubs to sort out his future.Making a bid that simply will not be accepted and could offend his friends at Everton would be a very stupid thing to do if he wanted to sign a player from them. I cannot help but feel that maybe this is an old story becoming public now,I wonder if Moyes tried to sign Baines at those meetings and it was rejected then.
