MOYES, YOU ARE OUT OF ORDER

I think Baines is the only player that every single fan would be upset about losing, and that is probably why people are getting in such a state - there is no counter argument that we should cash in, no suggestions of who we could get to replace him etc - he is our one truly world class player and we love him.

However, it should be borne in mind that we have received one bid and rejected it. No need for any obituaries just yet.

And just for the record - F*** off Moyes, he is ours

Yeah totally agree. It's one bid, but I have a feeling there's more going on behind the scenes (just thoughts though). Foolish to think otherwise.

There is always 'more going on behind the scenes'... supporters are the last to know, thats how its always been, and how it always will be. Newspapers need to be sold, that is their main aim, the truth is nowhere, so they rely on 'speculation'. Similarly the internet. Basically the forums are full of supporters having wild guesses and developing deep paranoia. When it happens, whatever it is, we will know.
I never liked Moyes anyway !

Yet ironically it'll be Kenwright who sells him despite Baines not wanting to leave (y)

Such a fuss over nothing IMO. Oh my god football manager wants to sign a top player who he previously managed and his new club have been after for years! Shock horror!! He'd be a poor manager if he wasn't going for Baines.

Moyes won't of told them what to offer they have someone who deals with that sort of thing at utd. And apart from maybe a bit of writing on a bit of paper moyes hasn't been our manager for at least a month now.

Yes, Moyes has nothing to do with it. It's the tea lady who does all the signings apparently. A strange method, but one that's kept them at the top of English football for two decades.

18M is massive money for a 29yr old left back.

I love this attitude - Evertonians wanting to do the oppositions work for them by giving them a world class footballer cheaply.

No wonder Kenwright gets away with it time after time.

Yeah but dave we could buy 3 reserve players to strengthen our bid for mid table (y)

I'd prefer we gave Baines away for free, after all he is 28 years old. I'd hate to charge United money for him. They're so poor.

We know but you "love" Bill.

I can't understand the passivity of those saying they're not really bothered.
Yes, we can say football's football etc, but Moyes is showing a ridiculous lack of respect to the club that has paid him a handsome salary and, moreover, got him where he is today.

Moyes has/is screwed us over twice financially:
(1) Letting his contract run down and denying one of the biggest business in sport having to pay us any compensation.
(2) Opening with a derisory bid for one of the best left left backs in the world. We can all see it's designed to unsettle the player, force the transfer request, lower the price.

How can this not make anyone want to attend Fume Fest 13?
In short, he's royally taking the p*ss out of our wonderful club and some Blues are still defending him!

I don't agree with the notion that he's not had anything to do with the move for Baines and also the value of the opening bid. If the above has proved anything it's that he's still a tight fisted Scot!

Presumably because they thought and think that Moyes is Everton and he can do what he wants.

We owe him a big favour for winning the square root of **** all for us by giving him our best player for almost nothing.

You meant to quote me I think :)

I'm not moaning, I'm upset at losing our best player, it does stink (perhaps in NZ we use the word differently to the UK?), as in it sucks big time if we lose him. You're not upset at him going? I love watching Baines play for Everton.

Ahh see what u mean, yeah it "stinks" loosing Baines, would love to keep him as he's one of our best and one of my fav's but unfortunately that's where we are these days. Quite impossible to keep hold of players that good with the money and ambitions of the rich boys.

My point was the saga doesn't stink, another club/moyes coming in for him doesn't stink it's football!

He hasn't done anything he's not within his rights to do. I would expect him to try to sign the best players he can while he's at united. That's what he did with us. Think you're taking it a bit personally.

I think if we don't sell, and he's quite happy to stay, it shows ambition of our own, and perhaps we will draw other quality footballers to us by stopping becoming a selling club. With the Sky money this is probably our last chance before the gulf draws even wider.

Ok Dave my point being moyes will not have said go and offer 12M for Baines, which many seem to be getting there knickers in a twist about the fee as seemingly that would mean moyes is a judas/scumbag etc...He will have said I want Baines pls mr executive and I would imagine he will cost us X amount. At which point utd's negotiater will have made a plan to start bidding and he's chose to come in at 12M. As he should if he's doing his job properly!

It's not a attitude Dave it's reality. A 28 yr old left back is only worth so much. We rejected 12M rightly so, 18M is a good price. No I don't want him to go but if he does want to go we have to achieve the price we can which everyone is happy with. 18M seems that sort of figure. We can scream for 25M but if he wants to go, and utd won't pay it, well then were left with a problem.

Maybe Baines doesn't want to go, then there is no problem but I think it's very naive not to think he would want this move at this stage of his career

My thoughts exactly when I see the "it's a job" excuses comparing managing Everton to stacking shelves or working at the post office I just wanna tell these people to fck right off.

You should be as partisan and passionate standing up for Everton as you would your blood family.
