Moyes was never one of us. He didn't get it. Joe Royle, Howard Kendall etc. were but not Moyes.
We are not a big club. Instead, far, far, far from it. We don't have the "oomph" necessary to make ourselves fashionable, and probably not in at least 10 years.

Playing a reserve side in an Anfield derby proves that point beautifully

Absolute bollocks,One of the worst shouts ive seen on here that.
Moyes had his faults but he was one of us for over 10 years
Never one of us ,never ever did it hurt him to get beat by the s+++e, he just never was an Evertonian

I think he dedicated all his time and effort into us for over a decade. I can ask no more. The derby games always used to puzzle me almost like he would accept a draw every game but Im not going to change your opinion and your not going to change mine. over a decade of his life spent here im sure he'll always remember it fondly and so will I. He's gone now its time to move on but to give him crap for not being one of us is very fickle IMO.
I think some of the bile being thrown at Moyes in this thread is cringeworthy.
Most of it is coming from those who had a long standing agenda against the man & are taking the opportunity to stick the boot into his integrity post his departure.
He's gone, we've moved on, leave your trenches ffs.
That's not me. Before these incidents and his contract saga this season I've never been in a Moyes hater camp at all.
