Mr bates v the Post Office

An unpleasant, boorish sort. Edinburgh pubs are full of them.
He showed scant regard for the enquiry by his tone and demeanour.
yep boorish, thuggish, and belligerently sticking to his wrongly prejudiced view that Horizon was a good system because it dealt with "70bn transactions pa and there were no significant problems with it". I was screaming at the footage when I was watching that there were statistically few issues that are talked about in this case but to call them insignificant was diabolical Each of those cases was very significant to those involved. He was POL's guard dog.A truly horrible specimen of a bully.

Jenkins comes across as a pretty genuine bloke, a computer nerd, a sandal-wearing and tree-hugging beardie.

He's got three days of this. We'll see if he reveals foxy characteristics.

Jenkins started to wilt towards end of play and his answers were unconvincing when questioned about his expert witness role.
He looks to me like someone who's been hung out to dry by those more devious than he but we'll see.

The bearded wonder isn't doing too well on this his third day under the grill. He's revealing himself as not merely a computer boffin but someone who was quite well aware of the political aspects of Horizon faults getting wide publicity.
Jason Beer is painstakingly picking apart relevant communications and Jenkins' answers are looking a bit thin.

Look at his hair! Just look at his hair! Tim Parker is a big wig in several ways.
He helped to lay off thousands of folk from the AA at one time, thus reducing another old established national treasure in the name of "streamlining"..
This guy on the stand today is particularly obnoxious. From a very long list of “can’t recaller’s”, “I don’t remember’s” and very obvious liars in a lot of cases - he’s doing his very best to appear in the top five of useless “witnesses”!
Beer needs to stop letting this Lily Savage lookalike waffle his way out of questions or hand him over to the likes of Henry or Stein!

Beer's MO in this enquiry is to let them waffle and fluff the early questions then close them in later in their evidence and bring in other evidence that contradicts their earlier fluffy accounts. Sir Wynn wont unnotice that many of these witnesses recall things that are beneficial for them and cant recall things that are unhelpful or harmful for them. Lots of shifting the blame/responsibility onto others. Once they get into a criminal trial (that will sadly take years to come to fruition), all those that are heard together will be grassing on each other in a fight to remain un-gaoled and it will be a proper bun fight.

Tim Parker is going down the route trod by Alice Perkins - being "helpful" in a patrician way, inserting hmmms and ahhhs as Beer speaks. It's the way these types maintain their elevated position.

It'd be interesting to see how that coiffure of his stood up to close scrutiny in The Scrubs or Belmarsh shower rooms. Unfortunately, he'll swim well clear of all that sort of thing!

only it's grey.*

Parker was chairman of Her Majesty's Courts and Tribunals Service from 2018 to 2022 for crying out loud.
I'm surprised he's not being served martinis and canapés as he sits and gives his testimony.
Chances of him seeing the inside of a prison cell? Get yer cash on Ev instead for the Champs League in 2026.
