Whilst being cash poor isn't on a par with oppression, state sanctioned murder and beheadings, I doubt the UK government would lean on the PL to waive this through.

Yeah, the PL clearly don’t care where you get the money but they do care that you have money. Particularly if they are leaving a trail of debt elsewhere.

Only trouble is I’m not sure which provisions of the directors test you could stop them under. But I think there would be very serious concerns.

The supposition is that 777 have some money and move it around their different business's to show they have funds - but collectively amongst all their investments they dont.

It may not be a problem for them to show the PL they have some money and sign the guarantee, but if its ever needed to meet costs - it might not be there. Im not sure the PL has the jurisdiction to question that if the money is in the bank from a legitimate source - they might not be able to ask so this is how you would fund Everton if it got in to trouble, but if that the case how are you funding Genoa.

It seems they are seeking to raise funds from investors. So they are essentially middle men.

No it isn’t. Their reputation in The City and New York is AVOID (and yes, I have those connections accumulated over a 35 year career as a consulting partner, SVP, CFO).

The lawsuits are building up.

Sooner or later the wheels will come off.

We should not want them anywhere near us but Moshiri is a desperate and has dealt with dodgy types in the past as an Oligarch fixer so he may not see it the same way.

Weak though the PL Owners & Directors tests are I do not think 777 will clear them so he is risking derailing MSP chasing a mirage IMO

Even if they can fund the takeover they clearly don’t have the money to finish the stadium and properly run the club. But does anyone who has a say give a damn?

If Moshiri sells to them we are in a crisis far greater than even the last couple of years.

Yes because so far it isn't a full takeover. It could limit the worth of the other 50% they own. If 777 wants to buy all of Moshiri's shares then that is a different kettle of fish.
