One summer compared to loads of windows under Bill mate. And even then it wasn't because we didn't have money it was due to an arbitrary rule that Kenwright never had to deal with.

The point is players will see clubs like Leicester as more 21st century than us and that's because the infrastructure wasn't invested in here. Would they have won the league still at Filbert Street? I doubt it. Loads of people will say it wasn't the right tme, but it would never have been the right time and we would just slip behind the clubs that are brave enough to do that.

I agree we need a reset, but wanting Moshiri out now is not the right attitude, wanting him to sell to the right people is what we need and as long as he is in the background signing cheques that is fine at the moment.
He can't sign cheques. We are searching for cash to finish the stadium and have no money for transfers until we sell players. The Usmanov fairy godmother is frozen and we are loss making and skint. Moshiri has invested heavily and presided over a total shambles.

Is this the James who played every so often and was courted by 0 decent clubs when he left?

Yeah that one that one who single handedly dragged us out a result at Old Trafford, at the start of the season was influential in us playing quality football to get us 2nd at Christmas and set up the important first goal to win our first derby in a decade and first this century away.

You're are right what a charlatan! Can't believe he had the audacity to get injured - you look at our other players and they never miss any games.

I bet we do sign players this summer and to do that someone needs to approve it. If we were that skint ALL that money would be funnelled back into the owners pockets. Most football clubs are loss making and we are operating a tight budget due to FFP restrictions so at one level is it not wise to sell before we buy? Can't have it both ways, we either balance the books or spend like crazy and end up in the position we have gotten ourselves into.

Moshiri has given us BMD and tbh we should be grateful. He provided Bill & DBB with all the funding they could possibly want and they have screwed it up…look to the board, the management, the players, but Moshiri is way down the list of those I would blame……..
But is seems from the outside that he does not let the people that he has employed (like the DOF) actually make decisions! He has massive influence over the players that have come in from what i hear.
Yes he has got the new stadium moving in a very positve light and in a great location. For that i am grateful.

Years of not spending, you mean like the last window under Farhad or last summer when we only had 1.8m to spend.

Anyway, MSP, I hope they buy us quick, as right now under Farhad every day we get further away from the club he bought, in the wrong direction

Kenwright inherited an asset rich club with a tiny operating loss.

Moshiri inherited a completely unsustainable club that was bankrupt and financially left behind by all its peers. There was nothing left to sell, the cupboard was bare. We had fallen well behind our traditional peer group and out of the top ten in terms of income. Our operating losses had multiplied even with a zero net spend for over a decade of living off loans.... with zero investment in an antiquated stadium when all others had redeveloped or built anew. This was all presided over by Kenwright over many years.

Moshiri's main mistake was leaving the serial failure/liar in charge. All Moyes' good work was soon undone and the new owner's warchest was blown within a few seasons. Moshiri obviously had little or no interest in running the club and left the same incompetents in charge. As owner his job was to increase the finances.... this he did. He paid off the inherited debts, provided the cash and USM the various sponsorships to take us up to approx 6th in the income table. Kenwright got his dream of staying in charge with his new found mug's chequebook.

Moshiri has also provided all of the cash to start addressing our stadium deficiencies after decades of zero investment and endless failures on that front..... again, for which Kenwright was entirely responsible. The loss of kings dock meant that we will now have Hundreds of millions of debt on top of the 20yrs of lost revenue and opportunity that was completely avoidable. All swept under the carpet by the few remaining Kenwright apologists.

There was no talk of Moshiri interfering for the first couple of years at all. Only after the initial several hundred million was blown on predominantly garbage players/managers. The rot had already set in.

Sounds great just like a billionaire owner did, it’s not a rut we’ve done nothing since the 80s and by Monday could possibly be a championship side quite happy is in and around top 7 and maybe challenging for some silverware but of late we’re turkey pathetic on and off the pitch a stadium isn’t going to change that.

Moyes kept us top half on a shoestring, with a zero net spend over a 10yr period. That doesn't mean the club was well run off the pitch. We had fallen miles behind the top 6 and were about 12th in terms of income with the oldest stadium, most property assets sold off and massive operating debts. A couple of years ago we had jumped several places in the income league.

Yes, a stadium alone doesn't change much, however that is yet another income stream that we have been left behind on and had to be addressed at some point. It may also package us for a future sale. Personally, I think a proper redevelopment of GP was the more prudent option.... but the same chairman who presided over destination kirkby and the same relocation obsessed mindset was still in place. Moshiri was probably initially enticed by that whole prospect....

We will sign players but will have to sell. Moshiri can't fund the completion of the stadium never mind breaking FFP for transfers. It is not only wise to sell before we buy, we will not be buying otherwise.

He can and we can we just arnt allowed to because of the rules in place

We practically couldn't buy without selling for over a decade under Kenwright, even without paying for a stadium and without the more vigorous FFP restrictions.... (who incidentally has also been chairman throughout the current situation).

We are now having to pay over half a £billion for a stadium, when we could've had a slightly bigger and better located stadium 20 yrs ago, pretty much for what we got for Wayne Rooney.... who we also had to sell because we were practically bankrupt with the "wolves at the door".

Don't knock it pal, the stadium is the one thing we have going for us.
