Jesus, first and foremost there was NO £30m budget with Kenwright in charge, it was sell to buy end of. And it would be lovely to have an £80m budget but what part of FFP can't you get, it's wages and sustainability, you know what you're genius Denise Barren Baxendale helped bring in, we can't spend it even if we had it. And we've tried that and spent it on poor players under Moshiri. It's recruitment we need to get right.

Tell that to Newcastle & Villa.

The lack of ambition in our fanbase is scandalous. You can't slate Kenwright then be happy with being midtable plodders forever.

Depends on how successful they are in achieving their goals and how much pressure is applied by the investment funders.

Also I think your average Evertonian would welcome a bit of stability and gradual growth. We’ve all seen that flashing the cash does not automatically guarantee success.

The same Evertonian that chased Koeman and Silva after a poor spell, who questioned Carlo Ancelotti & protested whilst we were finishing top 6 under Moyes ?

Two poor seasons isnt gonna turn our fanbase into Bournemouth fans man.

We rightly want success we're starved of it !!

I just hope it’s not too late to reestablish ourselves as a major force again….not sure these guys will be the ones but as others have said these new guys (however much they invest) may open the gateway to an owner like City’s and Newcastles. They are both clubs who were essentially done for…there were no prospects of success on the horizon.

It does make you wonder whether Amanda Staveley ever expressed an interest in us, as she‘s already confirmed they tried to buy Liverpool.

The problem is, nobody wants to buy the deadwood.
Yeah, but there must be a way of ending some of the contracts at less cost than seeing them out (Alli being the first you’d look at) and you’d hope anyone coming in would be considering that.

We’re like an old folks home for the terminally sh1te.

We’re definitely into beggars can’t be choosers territory, and I’m finding the hate for MSP a little bewildering after the absolute car crash we have seen from our so called world class chairman and BoD the last few seasons.

If they help get BMD over the line and add a veneer of professionalism to our structure and organisation, whilst hoping to turn a profit on whatever they invest, that can’t mean they want us struggling at the foot of the table in another relegation battle, so at least it is several leagues ahead of the clueless narcissistic clowns we have in charge currently. Might not be perfect but it’s a start.

Just wish they would get on with it and boot the deadwood out the boardroom and changing rooms so dyche and thelwell know what they have to work with.

I doubt it. Whether we like it or not, the kopites have got a bigger international market to tap into than we have, and the barcodes are the only ‘big city’ club in England that don’t have a rival same-city club, so there’s more growth potential there too. At this point in time, all we can offer is history and a possible new stadium if Moshiri lets us keep it.

Yep, makes sense. The only thing I’d say about the one club city thing with Newcastle is that it hasn’t stopped us being more successful than them historically, and commercial revenue now, is driven by fans outside of the local area. Success brings a wider fan base everywhere, greater TV and commercial revenue.

I would have no problem with MSP owning a minority stake with them/Moshiri selling up in 2-3 seasons time to some big player.

The worry is that they'll buy a minority stake with clauses to increase that over time eventually buying Moshiri out fully.

In the latter scenario we'll be in BMD with likely better accounts and no FFP problems yet be owned by owners with no desire to pump the kind of dough in to have us competing. By their nature this group want the maximum output with putting in the minimum amount.

I just cant see how that goes over with our fanbase in the long run. Do we really want another round of protests/unrest against new ownership in 3/4/5/6 years from now ?

I would 100% rather Moshiri stay on for another 1-2 years until the "right" buyer comes along and there would be one as the world economy slowly heals post Covid/recession and as more oil states start looking to diversify their investments ahead of the world turning away slowly from fossil fuels.

Exactly this Moshiri will still be the by far the biggest shareholder and ultimately has all the say at Everton despite who actually goes on the board.

Our best chance would have been with a takeover and a whole new owner and board..... this is bad news for us, just more debts until turned to shares.
💯 This. Seem to have gone backwards in terms of short term debt. On the other hand we all got we wished for in 2 sugar daddy's and well it is what is we are where we are. Let's face it a total takeover won't happen Mosh is about leaving legacy's and that is a cultural thing aswell as a mindset. Once the stadium goes up we have one season who knows...

True, and Chelsea and Coty have shown how a ‘smaller’ club than us can become massively successful when huge amounts of cash are thrown at them. But I’m guessing that from the investment point of view, Newcastle look like they offer more untapped potential than us. Plus, although there are loads of questions around Staveley, I don’t think she’s actually mad.
