That's exactly right.

Moshiri needs MSP and the additional finance they can attract.

MSP see their initial minority stake as a cast iron money maker after straightening out the business and (hopefully) managing a sustainable, premier league club up to the point they (Moshiri and MSP) sell up.
Do they understand that the cast iron money maker requires investment into the squad because all we are currently doing is selling players?

It's a fair point, maybe they're banking on Dyche making do with what he has barring sales funding cheaper buys or the odd loan move.

But in all honesty, whoever makes up the new board, they'd have to go some to match the levels of underperformance displayed under the 'leadership' of DBB.

Never said he didn’t.
But he made his initial fortune through gambling.
Wasn’t necessarily a criticism, just an observation.
Wilf Cuff was appalled by the pools and was at the forefront of trying to prevent them with methods such as keeping the fixture lists secret until close to match day.
Wilf Cuff - was an ass in the BK fame - got rid of the classy TG Jones - Joe Mercer who told the Board he wanted to pack in football after Cuff asked him to play Centre half when we had TG Jones, so he sold him for peanuts to Arsenal - sold Tommy Lawton - Dixie Dean - plummeted us to how we are now .... & Dixie Dean forecast it all ......

Yeah, but you can’t invest in the squad if you’re constrained by P&S issues.
However, they might be able to help more with cash at hand, meaning what deals we can do are paid on good terms to the team receiving them

I think you’re confusing Wilf Cuff with Theo Kelly?

Yes I am apologies - that I am afraid does not change the situation Cuff was burying his head in the sands as they are now imo ;) but we needed finances just the same using good journeyman players mainly Irish - & the signing of two local Forwards in John Willie Parker & Dave Hickson - kept us resectable until John Moore's took over - & began to run EFC like Littlewoods - out went the deadwood - in came new everything -

Spurs were not happy or Wolves & Burnley - but if we want the glory days again - this Owner & Chairman need clearing out, or we will be facing relegation every season - the decks need sweeping - we need Billions ......we had it, but an accountant has proved he is not even good as an accountant - never mind having a football brain too....

We need a buyer like Newcastle & City & the other lot .....

The 6 week exclusivity period is up next week. We better see some movement on this soon because we can’t allow Moshiri to tighten his grip on this club anymore. Silence won’t cut it any further, the season starts in 6 weeks and we need these board issues resolved and to get moving in the transfer market.
Is there a set time frame for the exclusivity period? Even if there is one, it'd probably be able to be extended...

He has consolidated, if not tightened his position, at least for the time being, and bearing in mind the restrained financial circumstances.
His newly-found status as a director may also result in MSP sharing information with him which they otherwise would not have, and that may be of use to him in deciding his next moves.

Who knows how long the interim board will last, but in practical terms, they're here for the transfer window or a significant part of it and that's the critical period for the club now.

The only positive in that sense is that some ( a small amount) of the $$$ announced in the funding may go to transfer spending, whether we spend it wisely or not is another thing entirely.

It seems that Moshiri and MSP will have to co-exist between now and the completion of the stadium. If MSP are ultimately going to be required to pay for the remainder of it, then Moshiri's control and equity stake will diminish with each MSP funding tranche.

Till then its an ongoing concern, The sooner MSP are able to get some of their nominees aboard, and we have a new Chairman/CEO, the better, very obviously.

Good post mate.

The deal is tied up, my concern is the vacuum in between. There are three competing needs, Bill, Moshiri and MSP - both with competing agendas and significant shareholding all looking to get the most value for their shares whether buying or selling. With two of them presently on the board - will they be looking out for their personal interests in maximising value of their shareholding or the welfare of the club. Something i haven't seen said which seems very obvious to me as to why Kenwright has been kept on - is that he is another ally for Moshiri on the board and they are both in the same position of wanting to get the maximum amount of money for their shares.

A new board will be formed, but it will take a while, even when in place it will be like moving an oil tanker around in terms of sea change required from a culture and governance point of view - it will take two years minimum for corporate recovery to bite and that's what we need to do.

More importantly though and people get hung up on the board - is the executive positions - CEO - CFO etc. These are massively key appointments in terms of day - day executation of operations at the club. Realistically anyone worth having will already be in employment so you could be looking at a long number months before someone is in place - beyond the summer. I dont know have we even started the recruitment process for those roles yet.

All this means that we are operating on a wing and prayer at the moment, our finances are a mess, we have key stakeholders at board and ownership level with competing agendas and needs and an executive team with no skills or experience of the roles they are operating in and significant issues at play - poor finances, stadium build, transfer window and PL investigation to deal with.

I think there couldn't be anything but chaos and massive vacuum at the moment. I'm not expecting things to move that quickly at all structurally.

Thanks and same to you mate.

It would be interesting to know the funding schedule for the stadium and when further payments to LOR fall due.

If we are meant to be playing at BMD in ca. 18 months time, I would assume that equates roughly to the time period in which this co-existence will have to remain in place, although at some point earlier MSP assume majority control?

If the remaining cost of the stadium is £300M and approx. 1/3 of that is now committed, then two further tranches of £100M each, perhaps at 6-month intervals?

So the prospect of MSP taking control in early to mid 2024?

The issue, as you've made clear is the competing interests at board level and throughout the club and the resulting uncertainty/lack of clear direction. It looks to me based on the above fag-packet summations that this period in no mans land will take us right through to the end of the year, although if the key positions are filled before that then at least the day-to-day executive management of the club will be in a better place.

We have to ensure we have a good window, try to minimise on-field crises, and hunker down over the next weeks and months, and hope we emerge stronger the other side.
