Did u watch Fellaini in his 1st few months?!So its surely doubly hard for players from lower leagues. I havent seen enough from him to think he would ever be on the level of McCarthy let alone Arteta or Fellaini.

not really, otherwise you would see league 1 footballers coming into the premier league with regularity - they dont.
He's definitely not a box to box midfielder but with that's not asked of him the way we play. His distribution from deep is very good but like McCarthy and Barry will never be a goal threat.Disagree with you as well.
I've been impressed with Besic so far. The worrying thing about him is that he sometimes takes a risk with a drag back or turn with players around him when we don't have much cover, but he's only been caught out once. That was a suicidal flick in the Chelsea game which was clearly a mistake.
I've noticed that Besic is not going to be the type of player who is a box to box midfielder who will score goals, and play through balls. However, he seems to be very good at keeping things simple, he can get stuck in, and has a burst of pace along with decent skill, turning out of trouble. He won't suit every type of game but I think he has the potential to become one of our most important players in the next few seasons.
I think some people sometimes expect too much of certain players too. They are all different. Mirallas is a fanny (except for the derby games) who is capable of wonder goals and running at players. Barkley can run at players and score screamers as well. Both have way more match winning ability than Besic and McCarthy but those two are different types of players who are likely to give more consistent performances and contribute in other ways.
I don't care what anyone says. Besic needs to drastically improve.
He doesn't have the things like Naismith have in his locker (like slotting).
So Besic needs to learn to stop giving the ball away and doing stupid things with it and to tackle more like McCarthy and not like Paul Scholes.
I suppose we should count our blessings on somethings. At least he's not a 20 stone overweight midfielder like @MoutsGoat
Shut up Damo, the back tracking your gonna have to make is gonna be epic.
Unless he seriously improves. If he does I will congratulate him. However at the moment he's under parr and needs to do better.
LOL
Its ok, cos I know your kidding.
Hes an outstanding talent.
There's a difference to being an outstanding talent and a good player.
He's not the latter. Yet.
Hes both.
Infact, hes an excellent player with the potential to be the best player thats ever played the game.
