Finally I managed to watch the game, didn't want to say anything before that.

He was very decent, it was good to see that after so much benching he could come to the game and played well. It shows for me that he's fully adapted by now.

He also looks much stronger physically and faster mentally in thinking than a year ago. Some signs were about this at the Austria match but its the EPL where You can really judge this regarding to the tempo.

And I think that in this year for an Everton player decent is a compliment. For me Stones was outstandig, Jagielka, Lennon and McCarthy very good, Lukaku,Baines, Coleman and Besic decent. And that's all. Maybe Naismith can get credits for his fighting.

I'd say Besic was far from "decent". He was a prospect out of his depth, who takes too long on the ball and slows the play down, and makes too many mistakes for his position.

It was a bedding in season, but there's no guarantee we'll see anything of substance from him next season as there's been very little to suggest he's ready for a first team berth.

People see the odd long range pass and a turn on the ball and think he's a world beater - I see the other 90% of his game and I'm deeply unimpressed thus far.

Hahahaha, thats a poor attempt at trolling.

Stick to wrestling lad.

I think with not playing he is lacking confidence and match fitness.
He needs a proper run in the team to be judged fairly.
Against Qpr at home him and ross were superb in the middle but then he got dropped for Barry again.
Hopefully next year he will show us what he can do

I thought he done well when he came on, moved the ball well and tracked players.

Is he the finished article, it would be a no for me, but I still think Stones is still learning so maybe I can be a little harsh.

My fear with Besic is not the potential he defiantly has, it is the expectation people have of him.
Hopefully he will play a bigger role next year and we can see if he can fulfil the potential, but as ever we need to afford him patience

Positives in playing Besic is our average age drops and you start to look at the team and we have young players in key positions - that is were our future lies

He isn't the ready article yet, thats still quite clear.
He shows plenty of promise however, doing very well considering he's new to the position and he came from the Hungarian league.
I'd like to see him get more game-time in lieu of Barry, he needs to develop more positional discipline and overall discipline to his game to do so however.

Even if what you say is right (which I don't think it is for the record), this sounds 100x better than what we've seen from Barry. Yet, shockingly, Barry still plays lol

I'd rather see a younger player do what you've described above, in the hope that he'll learn in the process, than see a veteran like Barry do worse.

I wouldn't disagree

I think he offered more in the 45 mins than Barry has offered all season if I'm honest. Shame it hasn't worked for him this season, as last year his performances where vital for us taking 3 points in so many games.

Its gonna be boss when hes supplying 90 yard passes to Messi next season.

Er mate. What?

...

I think he'll improve. He's just stepped up about 5 levels from where he was playing. It was unrealistic for everyone to think he'd be a world class superstar inside 12 months.

It took Naismith the same time frame to adapt. Prove all the haters wrong.

Always thought Besic had something about him when I've seen him play. Still a bit raw but if he doesn't get game time, he's never going to develop properly. Play him more or send him out on loan to a newly promoted club.

LOL

Why even mention him in the same breath as Naismith??

Almost barbarically harsh.

He is tenacious, runs all day long, times his tackles well for the most part, takes the ball under pressure, can turn on a sex-pence...

all things you're not seeing, im guessing?

He is a very good prospect and likely to be our holding midfielder for years to come.
