Same here. I was desperate to see Billy succeed with us, and now really want to see Besic become an Everton great.

For the City, and maybe Chelsea away games next season, I think we could use Besic as a sweeper. Play deep and try and nick one on the counter

Very defensive like, and I wouldn't play it every week, just against the tippy top teams and only done sparingly

I think Besic would be great in that role, otherwise I wouldn't suggest it

Again. I know it's very defensive, but I think we've looked good on the counter at times last season and I could see it working now and then. This is NOT what I think our formation should be every week, I cannot stress that enough. I'm not proposing that this is how I want Everton to play but more how I think we should play on very rare occasions

Because you are judging him by one bad match and not by 10 great he played.

Yea but Besic and McCarthy can't play together. They are both the same player, they won't start together next season in my opinion.

Not really but that's a good thing. He's an established member of the squad, still only 22 and backup for Barry's position and maybe even might be a starter although that will depend on where Cleverly plays and what happens with McCarthy.

I think the following season will be when he's first choice.

I think Besic is more like Barry than McCarthy except he can run. McCarthy and Cleverly are the two players most alike in our squad.

Can you explain why? I just don't see it personally. He wears the royal blue so I want him to do well of course but to me he's just a continental journeyman that we took a punt on. He hasn't shone in any game for me beyond the odd tackle or trick.

Jury is still out for me. Would we not be advised to loan him out on a month to month deal to a championship team to get him some real experience?

With Cleverley in and Osman good for at least another year I don't see the desperate need for him to warm the bench.
