There's a few articles that have referred to Deulofeu as "in the hole" so you might be right.

I asked you this the other day, but would you not swap McCarthy and Besic around in that formation?

Not currently.

It may change tho, both players had to try and adapt to new things last season, Besic from CB in Hung and McCarthy from "water carrier" to box to box, both seemed to do it well, I just think Besic might have a bit more offensively to his game than McCarthy, with his desire to try the "risky" on occasion.

I mean versus "better" teams you would drop them both at DM and hope they can rotate between 6 and 8 when needed.

Personally I would say they're both equally adept DMs, but I'd play Besic deeper because I think he's got a better range of passing, and McCarthy is more box-to-box. But your reason makes sense, too.

This is all academic of course, because Gaz Baz exists.

Yeah at DM theres not a great deal of difference, McCarthy probably just shades it with a slightly higher level of erm, level headedness, but both can tackle well, shield, track runners and both have bags of energy.

Lets hope they both play lots next season, people who know football can see the talent McCarthy has in his role, hopefully Besic will silence his doubters.

But yeah, Gaz Baz, not as bad as most make out IMO, still got a part to play in our future.

There is every chance this is because QPR were the worst side we faced mind. Those two against Chelsea and I'd be worried.

That's it though isn't it. We don't play a formation because we might get beat at Chelsea ignoring the fact that yeah we might but we'd win an awful lot more games. Instead we play a safety first two or three holding mids, end up drawing a load of games we should win, oh and we still lose to Chrlsea. What's the point of that?

He's one of them weird players that causes blues to massively over rate him early on. This weight of expectation then asphyxiates his form until he's sold for a nominal fee.
