He needs time to settle in your right and hopefully he is ready for a run in the team now

Barry had a really mixed season. He seemed unfit towards the start but improved. Besic was more consistent although his performances went the other way towards then end. I don't think Besic is ready to be a starter next season but he definitely has potential and hopefully he will be ready the season after.

I think his all round game needs improvement but that's understandable. What he does have that Barry doesn't is the legs to make up for his tactical naivety.

He never got sent off once last season. We like someone that can tackle. He does have to improve his learning when and where a bit more but I don't mind that side of his game. In fact I like it.

He did it too much for me, he was trying too hard. Can't fault his drive and determination, and If he can control that more, then we will have a player on our hands.
I do think ppl have gone over-board on him though.

Probably a little although I would still play him over Barry. Now that he's an established member of the squad I just want to see him develop at the right pace.

If Martinez plays 2 attacking midfielders in a 4-3-3 then McCarthy will be first choice DM/CM rotating with Besic. However a choice of Barry and Besic theres only one winner + Besic seems top notch when playing internationals so i think just needed a season to adapt.

At the moment, I would still take Barry, He ended the season decent.
