Confirmed Signing Nathan Patterson

I think he will be good so the fee will be worth it in the end. I'm just a little worried about how much we've paid for two relatively unproven full backs but at least there is some logic to the signings for once.

Depends on our budget though. If it’s not massive then signing two cheaper full-backs, to me, beats spending it all on the one and leaving us massively imbalanced.

I don't really know what people expect.

The fee is as low as it is because of his age and his lack of experience.

The fee is as high as it is because of his age and his potential.

This is exactly the type of signing we have been calling for since Marcel Brands was appointed and Mykolenko is in the same category.

If we wanted an experienced full back the fee would be at least 10m more and the potential probably would not be as high.

The problem is that both signings will probably come quickly into the team whereas it would be better if they could be allowed to settle first

Thankfully, most Evertonians have brains enough to wait and see how a player fits in at Everton before passing judgement. He'll be given a fair crack of the whip from the terraces.

Only if he turns out like Rondon does he have to worry.

Yeah agree mate, just hope we don't judge him this season, same with Mykolenko, they are walking into an absolute comedy of errors defence atm.

Haven't seen him play, but its the type of signing I've been wanting Everton to make for ages. 12m isn't huge money for such a highly rated player - and its a position we are crying out to be filled.

The most surprising thing about this whole thing is that Rangers have never sold a player for 10m or more.

It's a good move all around, 12 million is nothing in prem standards ,
we get a young talent, Rangers get a decent fee and help there financially difficult situation, and the player get a chance to earn a few bob and play,
he would have ended up frustrated at not getting passed the club skipper, who is one of there most important players.
We are taking a chance it will work out for him and the fee will look small if it does.
I happy with the move and will give him the time to impress and improve, let's face it he doesn't have to be a more than adequate to be better than what we currently have in his position.
Like the look of that other Rangers player Joe Aribo (think that's how you spell it) gets around the pitch well and a bit of skill about him as well.

Depends on our budget though. If it’s not massive then signing two cheaper full-backs, to me, beats spending it all on the one and leaving us massively imbalanced.
That is how we progress long term.

Sell one and sign 2 younger. Much better chance of rebuilding the squad without spending a penny more than we take in.

Given Gordon's progression, we could sell Richy and not even have to replace him directly , sign a striker and a cm with his transfer fee.

Give it two years with this policy and the squad will be in a much better position to actually kick on , depending on if our scouts stop watching match of the day for their targets.

I feel sorry for any defender coming in to be part of our joke of a defence. These new guys don’t stand a chance, especially in the short term.
Hope I’m proved wrong, but until the fat one with his prehistoric tactics is gone, then nothing will improve.

Hello lads. Rangers supporter here that's a soft spot with Everton due to the old Smith/Ferguson connection. Just wanted to answer some of the points there. He's played I the EL against Lyon, Sparta Prague, Slavia Prague. I wouldn't quite class these as 'minnows'. He's pretty much nailed on as Scotland's first choice RB, despite what you think, there are a couple of good players available in great position. He's played in Old Firm games, and despite what you guys think of our league, there aren't many games where you'll be under the same pressure.
You'll be getting a brilliant young player and most Rangers fans have been screaming for him to be our first choice RB.
He can defend, has pace, he's strong, isn't afraid to get stuck in (a necessary quality up here) and has a great final ball.
Don't let the negative 'pub league' brigade fool you. It's a quality signing.

No doubt but he's a prospect. He's not ready to be thrown in and replace Coleman.

If he does...the way we are defensively... we'll kill his career.

Doesn't he play wing back for Scotland? And the handfuls of games for Rangers has been fullback?

Will be too much for him.
