"Dave said this", "Dave said that".

Actual grown men.

Dave, you are the most opinionated looney on here. You take over every thread, often with quite controversial views that invite strong responses.

The site would be poorer without your input, but you will always draw ire and anger.

Scott Gemmill played him as a stand in right mid years ago for the under 21s against the Czechs and Lithuania lol

Funny that Gerrard always played Tavernier higher and Patterson more defensive and Clarke has always trusted him at RB and RWB also. Gemmil is admitting here that right midfield was a "stand in" position, praising Patterson for his mentality to adapt even in positions he is not comfortable in.

He also goes at length to discuss his physicality and mental edge he has to become a superb defender for Everton FC.

It's bizarre - i've never seen such bitterness towards a player from a fan, especially when the guy has barely played a competitive match for the club due to injury.

The long walk back from "he's terrible/should never have signed/loan him to lower league then the desperation to create a new "he can only play winger" narrative when he has a half decent game in pre-season. Scary, disturbing behaviour.
Welcome to Davek!

“Playing as a right midfielder wouldn’t have been Nathan’s preference but he knew he could help the team."

“So, of course I would back him to go and confirm himself defensively and show he can succeed in the Premier League, offensively and defensively."

You're welcome, Dave.
Precisely.

His manager's see it different, and rightly so.

Never in a million years someone you could play in defence and get away with it.

Just bang him on ignore

So you're saying I won't find evidence of this lad being picked at right-back? Is that what you're asking me to do?
No, Im saying he's picked there but he doesn;t play there. The manager will always play a formation or include a defensive midfielder / CB to compensate.

Gemmill would be amazed if everything was plain sailing for Patterson, nonetheless. The Premier League, says the 51-year-old, will test his compatriot’s defensive capabilities like never before. He’s probably not been tested defensively at Rangers to the extent he will be in the Premier League with Everton,” added Gemmill.

Indeed.

So you're saying a manager will pick a 3rd centre half when he plays RWB and when he's playing RB the manager will add in a defensive midfielder to drop in the defence?

Holy moly, think you've cracked football.
