2021/22 Nathan Patterson

He WAS a reserve player at Rangers, but the only reason he couldn't get in to the team was because the Rangers captain was on top of his game and scoring and assisting goals week in/week out.

Whenever he got his chance whether it be in the league, Europe or Internationally he more often than not excelled and was never phased, totally fearless, full of energy, pace and has undoubted talent.

Lampard not having the balls to let him bring that to an Everton team (which is badly in need of all these attributes at this moment) but would rather stick with a (sadly) clearly finished Everton captain or a patently not good enough Kenny that are being targeted by the opposition every week for those very reasons, is frankly(pardon the pun!) the real mystery here (and more worrying!) in relation to showing some positivity to this side, rather than sticking with 'the problem' he should maybe try and play what could be 'the solution'.

I know the stakes are high for Everton and Lampard here but tbh it's only going one way as it as the moment. ?
yep

Unfortunately this was a really daft decision by the club. I dont know if he possesses the ability to thrive in the premier league, but to bring in an inexperienced yet promising youth player when your starting right back is an erratic and on the decline was disastrous especially when we were in a dismal relegation form. Just complete lack of self awareness. Even if he is skilled most managers wont opt for youth in a relegation fight choosing experience even if those players contributed to the current dire state.

I have a slight feeling he might play in a back 5 as the RWB

Mykolenko Godfrey Holgate Coleman Patterson

Tell Coleman just don't move and let him run up n down and tell him what to do

Absolutely he is, and sometimes he gets stuck with no option but just to try beat 2 men, overlapping to the byline is so important

Look how many goals city score from just doing that alone
It seems to be our main tactic really.

Give it to Gordon, Richarlison and Gray and have them run really fast in a straight line with zero support and hope they do something special.

Obviously its not sustainable...

Remember over 10 years ago now when Everton signed a certain RB for £50K and a box of trackies but Moyes refused to play him over an ageing Tony Hibbert only to loan him out where he got Blackpool promoted to the PL almost single-handedly?

Seamus Coleman

Don't make the same mistake with Patterson; Just let the poor lad play! Surely he could not perform any worse than Coleman or JJK currently are - why spend £15mil on him otherwise?

I can understand it (annoying as it is) we signed a RB yet won't play him and would rather continue to play one of weakest links in our team simply because he is club captain.

Apparently that's the same predicament as when he was at Rangers.

He's about 12 years old.

Another presser asking about the Scotish Cafu.

We're in a relegation fight ffs
His agent must be paying these hacks to lobby for him.

The word from FF is that he's so bad at defensive work it's embarrassing.

£16M this club has pledged themselves to paying for him. A catastrophic use of cash that's been a signature of Everton's slide toward relegation.

Different flank, but Everton could have got Hickey for less than half that amount two seasons ago when he was at Hearts.

If we fans can see these good players at rock bottom prices then why cant our club's vastly paid staff of scouts and DoF?

I mean he’s 20. And at Rangers the worst full back in the league wasn’t keeping him out the side.

A Scottish 20 year old. When you take away the Buckie and smog, he's 12 at a push.

And the excuses for him not playing as many games for Rangers was that their captain was keeping him out, even though they say he was the better player.

Tavanier banged in Abar 3 against Dortmund the other week

So sad that you are spreading this boll@cks on an Everton forum about a young Everton player.

Have you heard this from someone directly?
