Loads of folks on there saying how Patterson was "brilliant" etc when he came on last night

Some of the curmudgeons on here will be having coronaries reading those comments

It's pretty rough when your own teams main forum is massively more negative than Elon Musk's Twitter...

Noticed you signed up after we signed Patterson, and with that name.

Your posts are almost exclusively about Patterson. In fact, from a quick skim I don't think you've ever post in another player thread.

You also seem to proactively criticise Coleman/Holgate too.

Just curious - why is that mate? What's the big interest in Patterson? Always surprised when fans seem to be fans of players, rather than clubs.

Oh, and Twitter. I'll say a player was crap on here. I wouldn't Tweet him it in response to them tweeting a well wishing message. Big difference.

My last comment about him was:

Filling Coleman's boots would be a tough task for any player. He's been a total legend for club and country

I think I made one comment about Holdgate not being amazing in the game he got sent of in

I've also made loads of comments in the Relegation 2022/2023 thread and various game threads

As for being a fan of Patterson... I'm Scottish. I want to see all Scottish internationalists do well. Be that Patterson, Tierney, John McGinn or anyone else

They bought the raw tools which he clearly has, it's the clubs job to develop them and for him to become a complete defender.

His biggest problem is he's barely played any football and that's where his weaknesses are it's basically lack of experience and awareness defensively that's something you learn over time and is surely a better option to develop that and play him rather than someone who literally isn't physically able to play the position properly.

I think Dave is still livid over Gilmour having an exceptional game during the weekend so Patterson being decent probably pushed him to brink of sanity which I know for dave is a common occurrence but it had to chafe lol

Same in the Garner and Onana threads...not exclusive to Patterson.

He needs this run of games to go injury free...have a good preseason and have a starting spot next season injury free...thats whats been holding him back imo.

I believe theyre related or something like that. Was him or another Patterson 'fan' from Scotland who stated it in the thread i think...

So you're not an Everton fan then... you just have an interest in Patterson because he's Scottish.

He was great at the start of the season, remember him having a great game in the Goodison Derby up against Luis Diaz.

There's more to get out of playing him than the others. There's a good footballer in there.

I think you're attempting to deflect your own odd defensiveness when I made a comment about this forum being more negative than Elon Musk's Twitter

Everton are my English team

They have been for a long time as they've always had a Scottish connection with various players down the years

I don't think you could call my comments particularly biased in comparison to some of the claptrap we've seen posted on this thread or across the forum in general

I'd say I've been pretty level headed, realistic and diplomatic about Patterson and his abilities

Something that can't be said for about half a dozen of the people who've commented on here
