Nathan Patterson will someday show that he is different class. He will show just what a decent footballer he is. This guy will have a top career.
Just don’t think that all Everton supporters think like me. Just don’t think that all supporters realise , what a gem , we have. Just don’t think that Patterson is fully appreciated , just yet. But he’ll grow on us.
I really rate this guy. Based on what , I hear punters say. Based on seeing him play for Scotland. Based on seeing him be MOTM , a few times , for Scotland. There’s a footballer there. He’s young. He’s learning the game.
Just my opinion folks . But this guy is going to the top. Just hope it’s with us.
Sorry, I’m replying to my own comment. But I should have added , that this is just my opinion , on Nathan Patterson. I could very well be wrong. But I just have a hunch , that I won’t be wrong.
I actually had the same hunch about a certain Mr Coleman , many moons back. When he was loaned out to Blackpool. I’m thinking that Patterson could be even better , for us. Let’s see.

It's been quite hard to have a view on Patterson so far, he's had so few games for us and came with no premier league experience, it for me was impossible to guess what the future held, far easier to judge the likes of Davies fairly who's had over 150 games with very little to write home about and has gone backwards in my view.

What he did on Monday was clear to see, and he'll do it again as he really does have it in him.
It was so impressive that he read and worked out his opponent, who was odd's on to give him a hard time, after 15 minutes he'd sussed him and played him off the park.
Only proper premiership players can do that,it was amazing to witness. A real prospect at last.

It's clear that what davek says he thinks about Patterson has never been based on reality

Not sure why anyone even bothers mentioning him in this thread

It only serves to give his comments that little bit of credence when in fact they obviously deserve none whatsoever

21 years old, he has time to come good.

If a player demonstrates they have some ability I'll acknowlwedge it. So far I've seen the derby and the last game against Brighton where he's looked like he could be a very decent PL FB.

Therefore it's not unreasonable to doubt his credentials.

I had a go at McNeill for his shortcomings until he proved over a lot of games since Dyche arrived. It's strange I was never picked up on that critique at the time.

Interviewed for match day programme for City game - extract on club website. Put on 5/6kg of muscle from gym work and diet since he joined and now hit target weight of 80kg.

Says he’s now into Cruiserweight boxer class!
Physically it's not his frame or body mass / muscle mass that's been the issue; it's been his stamina.

He was blowing for tugs in a lot of the games prior to his injury. It was alarming for such a young player. Maybe he was burning through a lot of nervous energy given the step up into the big league from where he's come from, but he defo didn't have the engine to sustain 90 minutes of effort.

Probably because you didn't have relentless bouts of bigotry aimed at McNeil so much so you actually got yourself banned from this thread for months.

Very fair.

You could say the same about Garner (another young lad I've bigged up) who wasn't used to/proven at Prem level and also suffered numerous injuries.

You have to give them time!

No problem. Let’s see.
But this is not about scoring points of fellow supporters. Supporting this Everton team , is all about , for me , winning football matches. And giving full support to players that I rate. And , believe me , I don’t rate every player. The players that I don’t really rate , have been at the club , for a while. And don’t really bring much to the party.
But I rate Nathan Patterson. And imo , every Everton supporter , should be hoping that he is the real deal. Why would anyone not wish that. But there is that one or two % , that want him to fail. Anyhow , let’s see how this all pans out for the guy.
And isn’t football all about opinions. Right or wrong.
And I am going to admit right now , that I got everything wrong about Iwobi. I thought that he was useless. And tbh , he’s not that bad. It’s all just about an opinion. Right or wrong.
Just one more example of having an opinion. Some punters have DCL marked down as Championship level , at best. I don’t , I think that , when fit , he’s top class. Again , just an opinion.
Last comment , let’s give Patterson a proper chance. And let’s see what happens. Most likely will take a few years anyhow , to see just how good or bad he is.
