Probably because you didn't have relentless bouts of bigotry aimed at McNeil so much so you actually got yourself banned from this thread for months.
That and the fact that he dared to play for the “ evil club “.

Does make you wonder if they were out of form or simply doing what the manager told them to do.21 years old, he has time to come good.
If a player demonstrates they have some ability I'll acknowlwedge it. So far I've seen the derby and the last game against Brighton where he's looked like he could be a very decent PL FB.
Therefore it's not unreasonable to doubt his credentials.
I had a go at McNeill for his shortcomings until he proved over a lot of games since Dyche arrived. It's strange I was never picked up on that critique at the time.

I view players objectively...unlike you in that Coleman thread.
Well, he wouldn't have been on the pitch if Coleman had been fit.Does make you wonder if they were out of form or simply doing what the manager told them to do.
Maybe it’s pure coincidence the new manager has breathed new life into a pair of under performing players

Dyche has transformed some players though, and not just his exBurnley lot.
Doucoure has been sensational and Garner is now finding his feet.
Improved. Not sensational.
I do fear we're going down that misty eyed road of over hyping players here(again) that have for the second season running put this club in a last ditch relegation fight. Is that not a clue in itself?
We havent got any sensational players. We've got inconsistent average players who when they graft can pull out results at times.
There are not many clubs that would take the vast majority of Everton players still here. And certainly wouldnt put them on expensive contracts. A lot of the players here know Everton is a good gig for them.

So was our entire team under Lampard. Convinced it was just lack of prep as it seems to be sussed out (for) now in everyone.Physically it's not his frame or body mass / muscle mass that's been the issue; it's been his stamina.
He was blowing for tugs in a lot of the games prior to his injury. It was alarming for such a young player. Maybe he was burning through a lot of nervous energy given the step up into the big league from where he's come from, but he defo didn't have the engine to sustain 90 minutes of effort.
Patterson's stamina imo is largely due to lack of first team football(injuries & being unable to cement his place in the starting 11). All the training & friendly appearances in the world don't get a player fully fit. I've heard at least one ex player say they were not 100% fully upto speed until a month or so into a season. So was our entire team under Lampard. Or did you mean the injury last year?

I do remember one poster(not davek)complaining of Patterson's fitness in our first US friendly. Patterson had barely played any football for 6 months and was playing in a heat very few British footballers will regularly experience.
I wrote basically the same thing early in this thread. The only thing that would stop him is serious injury IMHO.Nathan Patterson will someday show that he is different class. He will show just what a decent footballer he is. This guy will have a top career.
Just don’t think that all Everton supporters think like me. Just don’t think that all supporters realise , what a gem , we have. Just don’t think that Patterson is fully appreciated , just yet. But he’ll grow on us.
I really rate this guy. Based on what , I hear punters say. Based on seeing him play for Scotland. Based on seeing him be MOTM , a few times , for Scotland. There’s a footballer there. He’s young. He’s learning the game.
Just my opinion folks . But this guy is going to the top. Just hope it’s with us.
lol lol lolI wrote basically the same thing early in this thread. The only thing that would stop him is serious injury IMHO.
He has the world at his feet (pun intended), one of the best prospects I have ever seen and I'm quite old .
Just as a side note, a wingback can only show himself when his team can keep possession comfortably. Streaming forward when that is questionable only makes him look silly and he will be caught out of position multiple times in a game. Can't think of a good wingback in any team that is struggling to keep possession of the ball. All JMHO you understand
