I'd like to see Patterson further forward for a spell, just like Coleman was - he has a good delivery on him and he's a good grafter, but I'm not convinced at all about his defensive prowess. Wouldn't be too averse to Coleman/Garner as our right back options if our budget is as limited as it seems given stadium cash flow issues. First choice striker and left back, followed by possible Onana/Gray replacements (and someone to play behind the striker) *has* to be the priority.

Well from the graphic, even highlighted them for you just to make it easier, when Patterson has been in the squad Coleman has started over him only 4 times, whereas Patterson has started over Coleman in the squad 10 times. The "20 starts for Coleman" has nothing to do with my original post and is just about their respective injury woes.

Thus confirming my original post:

I know you're pretty thick so thought I'd make it as simple as possible with pretty colours.

Should have chosen blue for playing and green for sun, just to annoy dave

This is excellent commitment to the piping davek down cause.

Leeds goal was a fluke and go back 5yrs and you can pick out 1/2 good attacking performances a season. Says it all about Coleman’s footballing ability. Which has always been limited. Speed and fitness helped him from that point of view years ago. But most of his final balls/crosses were hit and hope. Coleman has been part of a group of players over the last 5 years, who are better without the ball.

Our best performance of the season had Patterson at right back
lol lol lol

Honestly top work....Dave.

There are people keeping spreadsheets now. lol

The laughable thing to me is that anyone with two eyes in their head can look at the performances put in by Coleman and Patterson last season and and judge who was the most secure defender and potent attacker.

Dyche reinvigorated Coleman and he put in some excellent displays for him.

Considering years of PL experience, I would expect to see such a difference right now. We can only hope Patterson can retain the same fire in his belly as ol' Seamie has, otherwise they're not too dissimilar a player, at Patterson's current age...IMO.

Not sure if Coleman is capable of 40+ game a season mate, we are going to need both and no mistake, Patterson will get there, i can see the talent, but has developmental milestones to hit - he needs balance in this game, but also think he needs a run of games - its when hes been at his best.

1 fluke goal doesn't mean he's a good attacker. He's not learned to cross his entire career and likely never will, as "anyone with two eyes in their head" has said/analysed/given stats for etc.

But yeah Dyche will favour the old dog naturally, experience innit.

Hope they watch the Shane Long game every day to pump up Coleman for the upcoming season.
