We have two players well capable of doing that RB job better than him and he'll have to improve his defensive game to make that not the case.

He's got that in his locker. Good athlete and can be an asset in the opposition's half. As a defender I wouldn't trust him - and that's his primary job.

I like to see him, hurt a bit more offensively if he gets a chance next season - he has that.

I think its balance, he is confident defending and attacking at the same time - or decision making around each.

Im more concerned about left back if im honest mate.

I'm confident about both FB positions now tbh.

Young will hand Mykolenko a job to improve himself and the RB spot is strengthened with the emergence of Garner as a FB.

I’m guessing they’re stats from giving the ball away leading to a goal rather than poor positioning, I’m not a massive fan of stats they can be read in so many different ways. I prefer seeing things with my own eyes and Patterson has been at fault for goals being out of position getting caught out. That’s why last season he should of had a loan away to learn and gain first team experience injuries didn’t help him at all. I do think garner looked better at RB but that’s was 1 game and Patterson had a couple of decent games last season, thought Coleman was still better than Patterson last season and depends how he comes back from this injury but like last season can see Patterson starting as first choice big season for him and he needs to stay fit otherwise I think Coleman will take his place again or garner I still don’t believe he’s ready for premier league football but he does have potential no doubt, and in a better team with more support he would look better but we don’t have a better team so he needs to be more alert to his positioning this season and not be caught out as much. Him and mykolenko have to be 2 of the weakest fb positions last season at the time wasn’t the signings we needed we needed 2 first team ready full backs and neither were that, if Patterson played a full season last year I’d be more confident in him starting but still have my doubts.

Agree, can’t have Mylenko as first choice left back again, it’s like playing with 10 men. He looks like he’s won a competition to play at Goodison. Godfrey at backup is just as bad. Maybe Young will get games at left back but it’s definitely the weakest spot in our back 4.

I’m hoping young is first choice left back or someone else is coming in also hope mykolenko isn’t injured and is on his way out poor signing and like maupay for as long as he’s here and fit will likely get minutes.
